I have read above 140 is a girl and below a boy but this has been proven wrong many a times.  I just had my 13 week scan and heart rate was 157 so might be a girl but then I went and checked my info from my previous pregnancies and my little boys rate was 162 at the same age - so go figure.

The heart rate is a myth, BUT so far in my case it has been right with my boys. Their heart rates were always between 135-150 at any given time.
Some women have girls who have high heart rates, and some have boys with low heart rates and vice-versa. Sometimes women find that in their case it works, but some say it means nothing at all. Honestly, the only way to tell for sure is to have an ultrasound. (If it were me, I would say boy because so far that has been *my* pattern) I am preggo with my 3rd, and the heart rate has been 150-158, so I am totally lost now! haha I find out on Feb. 16, so we will see!
