braxton hicks contractions

So I'm almost 30 weeks and have been having some really bad contractions but the doctor checked my cervix 3 weeks ago and said I wasn't at risk for premature labor. She says there just fake contractions but I'm scared there real. Any advice on how to stop worrying?

If they are getting close together go to labor and delivery. Both of my first pregnancies I went into pre term labor at 30 weeks. I was having braxton hicks contractions every 2-3 min and they weren't painful at all.

re these contractions irregular in frequency? Do they come in waves? What exactly do they feel like? Have they gotten better laying on your left side and drinking water? Do you have any bleeding or spotting associated before during or after them? Irregardless, you should contact your doctor again to let them know if they've persisted and are not only uncomfortable but if they are painful too. Your doctor will probably want you to head to labor and delivery to be seen, BUT they may not want to examine you to check your cervix as you were checked a few weeks ago, and if you are having contractions that are doing a fair amount of work they could only further jump start things. Just let them know your concerns. They have plenty of patients and its hard to keep track sometimes but any time pain and consistent contractions are involved it should be checked especially so early. Give them a call and see about heading to labor and delivery, and good luck with your little one!

Drink a glass of water and lay on your left side. Also if you have more than 6 in an hour you need to go to the hospital. If they seem pretty random then they are most likely braxton hicks. If baby stops moving then go to the hospital or if they become unbearably painful.
