breathing troubles

I'm 38+5 and when lay down I feel like I can't breathe but when I'm sitting up I can breath eaither especially when she has her feet in my ribs? Is this normal? I feel like I can't breathe at all and I can't catch my breathe, I'm worried what should I do?

I have anxiety and.asthma which always messes with my breathing obviously lol well having a 7lb 13oz babe in there sure isn't helping! ESP since.I have a feeling he's gonna be LONG! His daddy was 23inches Haha so yeah oober excited about that...not...anyway my older two, I had the same problem. Its normal cause they're taking up so.much room, have you tried laying on your side or.reclined back??? That always helps.me.

Thanks ladies, chelsea I don't understand my problem though my little girl has dropped already, doc says she is just stretching her legs out now because most times I can't even sit up because I also get very sore from hee being in my ribs! I'm almost at 39 weeks so I'm hoping this baby decides to come soon(: I still haven't been able to start breathing right again.. its so frustrating!

That's my main complaint right now! I'm 38 weeks also and my midwife says when the baby drops it will relieve some of the breathing issues. Baby Lily is in my ribs too which makes me very sore too. I'm totally uncomfortable and want her here already. Can't wait to hold her and have my body back......I need a beer and a glass of wine! Hang in there were very close. Good luck!

I have it too and I get it so often and it feels awful.... sometimes I even feel dizzy because I feel so out of breath. I have tried sleeping proped with pillows and it helps. I talked to my doctor about it and as always, he says it's normal. I have been having this for a couple of weeks (I'm 37w 5d).

That's not uncommon. I have severe asthma so I have a pulmonary specialist, and he says toward the end the baby's taking up 3/4 of our normal lung capacity. She might be pressing even more on your lungs with her position right now, gotta love how they think all that space in there is theirs to spread out.

I find it easiest to breathe lying down (I try my left side, or propped with several pillows leaning against my headboard. Sitting straight up or a little bit forward isn't fun, and lying on my back makes me feel like a fish out of water. Good luck, you don't have far to go at least. :)
