cervix length

Hi,
i had u/s in my 18.5 week. my cervix length was 3.2 cm. my doc said evertyhing is good. but last month my cervix length 5 cm.she said she will do manual chackup in next 4 week.i am in weekly progestrone because in my first pregnancy i had pre term labur i was in hospital for 10 weeks.
i came home in 34 weeks off the bed  rest and i delivered  my son in after 40 weeks .this time i am taking precaution from
right away. i want to a know 3.2 cm is good length in this period? i put myself in modified bedrest

Currently I am 20 weeks and my cervix length is 3.1 cm. My doctor's put me on bed rest and I go in on Wednesday to get a cerclage. I've been stressed and very scared. This is my 4th pregnancy.

My midwife about freaked when she saw at 20 weeks my cervix is 8.5 cm. She thought that I may have a long labor? What did your dr. say about it? She said she'd never seen anything like it. Freaked me out and you're the only person online that I can find that has had this.

that is very good you are in 32 weeks....i hope you will make it full term.
i will pray for you.i didn't check after 19 weeks  .i am now 22 weeks. i have app. on 25th of  may. but i am trying  to take rest as much as i can.

with my last preg i had my cervix length checked and at one point mine was under 2.5 and the next time they checked it, it was above 3.0 again....kinda weird but it proves that your cervix can lengthen again

modified bedrest is never a bad idea when there is any doubt

i am preg again but only 6 weeks along....the doc already said they plan to monitor my cervix again because i had my baby 8 weeks early last aug

I am almost 32 weeks now and I'm 3cm and baby's head is very low. Just hoping to hang in there for another 4 weeks at least! How about you? Have they re-checked your cervix? Being on  bedrest is a very good idea to try to keep baby in as long as possible and it's always better to be on the safe side when it comes to things like this.

You're welcome! the last cervical check said it was 3.1...they haven't done a repeat since then. I just get manually checked every week now instead.

At my 18w ultrasound mine was 8.5cm (super long!!) and by 25 or 26 weeks it was 3.1cm but I am dilating as well. the doc said they worry when it gets below 2.5cm. I am on strict bedrest because like you, I had preterm labor last pregnancy. Bedrest is a very good idea, always better to be on the safe side. I see my midwife weekly now until I have the baby. The fact that you got to 40 weeks last time is a great thing and very encouraging! Hang in there!!
