concerned

According to my doctor I am 8 weeks pregnant today.  This past Thursday we went to have our first sonogram.  And I don't know whether it is a difference in culture or if there is something wrong.  Because the lab tech said nothing at all; other than to ask for my consent to do a transvaginal ultrasound.  Which during this ultasound as well she said nothing.  Not even to show us where the baby was.  Then she told me to get dress I was all done and they will contact my doctor with the results.  Should I be worried?  (I am already).  Has that happened to anyone?

Something doesn't sound right...I had the same thing happen to me and And the tech made the dr come in and tell me there was no heartbeat found. With this pregnancy it's been different. They talk my ear off everytime I go in.

My first ultrasound tech was very nice and chatty! seemed very excited to show me everything and talk about the baby.... my second one wasnt so much at all! checked everything that he had to and was done... didnt even stop long enough on baby to see baby wiggling.... he didnt really say anything but at the end he did say he didnt see anything abnormal.... i would for sure bring this up to your Dr as this effects you when you stress out so much and maybe that tech should be made aware that she/he may be causing unnecessary stress.... praying that there is nothing wrong... good luck

I have one ultrasound tech at my high-risk OB's office who does that...I always ask (i.e. demand) to at least see the baby, and ask if everything is okay with her growth and everything. I think she just lacks people skills. Maybe that's true for yours too.

Not to be a bummer but my ultrasound tech did not say much and the doctor was out but she had a nurse come in and talk to me and that is when she said there was no heart beat and I had a miscarriage. I am not saying that has happened maybe you just had a rude tech who needs some social interaction help.

All the techs Ive had point out all sorts of things on the ultrasound to me. Does seem a little odd she didnt say anything to you... Guess all you can do is wait to hear from dr but I would also look into a different drs office or something for a second oppinion.

I know that our ultrasound techs really aren't allowed to say much (it has to be a doctor), mine have at least been friendly and chatted, but until you have your results try to keep your mind on something else.

I have had that before and it didn't turn out so good!! I end up going for my ultrasound I was 10w and the ultrasound tech measured me at 6w that same day I ended up having a miscarriage! But I hope everything is fine because I don't wish that on my worst enemy!!

That sounds horrible and would be looking for a new hospital! Every scan I've had they have always spoken to me, if not about baby then just to ask if I was ok. Wait for your results and if all is fine I'd put a complaint in!
