contractions??

I'm not sure if I'm having contractions. I've been having tight sharp pains on and off since yesterday at 11am. They lasted all day about every 30 minutes till 2am and finally stopped. Started again at 6 am for about an hour and than stopped. started once again at 9 and had them about every 15 minutes, the last couple of ones were times at 10:49, 10:53, 10:58, and 11:08. I get up and walk around to see if they go away but I still feel them while walking or even standing. I haven't gone into l&d cause I'm not sure if there consistent enough plus I haven't lost my mucus plug, I'm 38 and 5.

Do not wait for your water time break. Mine dint break til I started pushing.  Wait till they are more like 5 min apart fairly consistently and lasting 60 seconds.  Sounds to me like your body is almost ready for full blown labour!

You should get to the hospital asap. I never lost my mucus plug with my first son, and a lot of women don't loose it.

My waters broke and I lost my mucus plug when I was in full blown labor and only minutes away from giving birth with all three of mine so don't go by that alone. Give the hospital a call and they will let you know whether you should go in or not. Contractions are usually regular, but not always. If the pain gets too much for you to cope with then go in and they can help you with it. It sounds like you may well be welcoming your little one into the world soon. Good luck!

My labor contractions never got consistent, ever, that was in full blown labor, they were all over the place. I did however continue having them from the time they started, until I gave birth, mine never went away, and start losing my plug and having to breathe through them eventually, I'd wait and see if they regulate or your water breaks or your plug comes, it sounds pretty promising though!!
