I am about 5 weeks.  I have been pregnant before & had miscarriages...  I have peroid or ovulation like cramps that come & go.  How normal is this???  I'm afraid of miscarriage.

I'm 14 weeks of my pregnancy after 1 miscarriage.  I was 5 weeks with my miscarriage and had absolutely NO cramping just started bleeding. With this pregnancy I have had cramping from the beginning and still do.  Its your hips and uterus expanding which is completely normal. if you are concerned call your doc. I always call mine especially when I would lose symptoms for a day.

you are so right.  I just need to put myself in a different frame of mind.  I need to stop with the questions about miscarriage & stuff.

trying to relax now...

to all:  I hear about all you women going to the doc to see of your levels are rising & stuff...Do you have to do all that?  I wasn't planning on going until I was further along.  I thought if it was going to end in mc, they couldn't do anything about it anyway.  When do most women make their 1st appt??  All my pregnancies  I didn't go until further along.  Is that where I'm going wrong?

Don't worry about the sore breasts that can come and go. Take it easy and try to relax and maybe it's time for a little medhelp or internet break. You can't sit around reading about all the things that go wrong with pregnancy all day and not get freaked out. Take a few days off :-)

I read somewhere that when a pregnant mom worries, she releases some kind of hormones that aren't healthy for her unborn child. You have to stop worrying, try to relax, and take each day as it comes. You must concentrate on baby and how he will be feeling if you aren't feeling well.. Hang in there.. xx

If you are having cramps or back pain, just sit down and relax for a bit. I did some heavy cleaning the past week (prepping babys room) and my back hurt. It went away in a day or two. Also, my breast tenderness seems to come and go. I think that is pretty normal hun.

Relax and try to not worry too much. While miscarriage is common, it is less common to have multiple m/c in a row. Sure it happens to some, but not to most. God has a perfect plan for all of us and you just have to trust in that and have faith. It all works out for the best in the end. :)

Hon, you've got to calm down!!! Back pain is normal....As long as your not in severe pain like you would be if you were in labor... Just relax!!!! I know it's really hard, but the more you stress about it, the more baby feel's....

Thank you so much for your answers.
The past week when I took my bra off at night, I felt heavy & tender (which is laughable cause I'm an A cup.  Heavy?  yeah right).  Today I have no tenderness.

I have had some lower pack pain. Jut after I have been walking around for awhile.  Last nite I had some on one side of my back, but not much.

If things have stopped developing, how soon do u usually miscarry?  I am setting my mind for disaster.  I already told my 5 year old I was pg.  I wish I hadn't.  Last year the mc was tough on her.

First of all, congrats! Secondly, you have to stop worrying about MC.... I know it's so hard, but all your doing is stressing you and baby. It is very common for you to have cramping in early pregnancy... Around week 5 is when the baby is finishing the implantation process and so you might have a little discomfort. I wouldn't worry too much about your cramping unless it's so severe you have lower back pain, and your bleeding... You can see your baby's hearbeat on an ultrasound around 6 weeks sometimes it's not always a gaurentee. Luckily I was able to see my baby's heart beat at 6 weeks 3 days. Just relax! The more you stress hon, the more stress your going to put on the baby....  And it's not uncommon for you to have day's where you don't feel any symptoms at all, I do also....I am now 12 weeks. Like I said just relax hon. Believe me, I know it's hard but you can do it... I was freaked out too with this one because I was told 5 year's ago I couldn't have anymore...

princess - I too was having cramps early on. Having a mc myself, I too was as nervous as you. The cramps were af like and were EVERY DAY. That made me so nervous. At my first appt I asked how normal it was and my dr said everyone is different, but cramps are normal. We did an ultrasound at 6 weeks and did see and hear a heartbeat at 122bpm. She said it all looked good. At my 8 week appointment I was still having some minor cramps and asked if that was ok. She said the baby looked perfect and whatever I was feeling was normal for me. I do want to mention that I never had spotting this time too, so I think that made a difference too.

The cramping stopped around the middle of week 8. Haven't had any cramping for over a week now (minus the gas cramps today). I think most miscarriages happen fairly early. They say once you make it to 12 weeks, you are pretty safe (although it does happen after then sometimes). The m/c I had before was EXTREEMLY painful...I haven't felt anything close to that this time.

If you are freaked out, make an appt with your dr. Ask what you should expect to see before they do the ultrasound and that should help put you at ease. It seems like everyone has different experiences, so ask your dr what to expect. My sister is 2 months ahead of me. We had appts on the same day. I got to see and hear the heartbeat and walk out with 3 pictures of my bean. She didn't see or hear the heartbeat (couldn't find it), got 2 pictures and was told to come back 4 weeks later and not to worry - all was normal and baby was growing. She shows up 4 weeks later and heartbeat is normal, everything is fine. She won't get another ultrasound until 20 weeks. My next one will be at 14 weeks and again at 20.

ahhh!  I can't relax.  Last week I felt a little nauseous & my breasts were tender.  now nothing...  I feel normal. even less bloated.  still a little crampy.  I am absolutely NOT hungry at all.

For those who have had a miscarriage, or those that know info....   It freaks me out that 1 in 5 end is miscarriage????
What is the NORMAL time to miscarriage?  is it early on?  How did u feel?  I have had one before, but I am freaking out.

At what week do u see a heartbeat?  The internet show me 6 wks, then some sites say 8wks.  When I go to the doc I NEED to see a heartbeat.  I don't want to go too early & not see that because it will intensify my freak-out-ness!

Symptoms don't mean anything. While it CAN be a concerning sign if they just disappear, it doesn't always mean anything bad. It's normal for them to come and go, and there's still plenty of time for them to appear. Symptoms aren't indicative of pregnancy, nor mean the pregnancy is viable just like lack of symptoms aren't indicative of miscarriage. Enjoy your pregnancy and try not to worry. If something does go wrong, you don't want to look back on it and only remember worry and fear.

I am right there with you!  I am 5w and have very little for symptoms.  My last pregnancy I had almost everything by this point in time!  I am getting some cramping also, but it feels more like round ligament pain than anything.

I have heard other people say that they never had anything for symptoms and had healthy little babies - so hopefully we have healthy little ones with no symptoms!!!  I have my first u/s at the end of october and am really nervous.....

now I'm worried that my breasts don't hurt like they did yesterday...  I'm freaking out that something is wrong.  I know I need to calm down, but I also need to FEEL really pregnant. I'm really worried.  Also scared to go to the doc & not see a heartbeat.

I don't actually have a doctor yet...
They are like mild menstrual cramps.  off and on.
I have some back pain, but not bad.

i agree, it is normal until it gets to the point where it's extreme constant pain. if its just every once in a while and kind of a dull pain then i think it's fine. my mom always tells me when i worry about everything that my baby is going to be born with gray hair lol. you dont want that so try to relax and enjoy your pregnancy! if it does get severe or you're just too worried call your dr and see what they say even if it is just for peace of mind!

are they severe cramps? If no then it is absolutely normal. If you are not bleeding or having really bad back pain and severe cramps! I think you are ok. Stop worrying hunny. Worrying like this is not good for you or the baby! I know it is hard after a m/c. But you need to just relax. Call the Dr. so you can be seen
