I don't think you have anything to worry about with ttc on this BCP, i have been ttc for 19 months and i'm still not pregnant and i was on depo-provera for 2 and a half years. I was told in some women it could take up to 1 year for it to leave your system and another year to conceive in all honesty i HATE depo-provera and will never take it again for as long as i live
'thanks, but what is the chance of me getting pregnant while on it.'
It's a pretty slim chance, as martikadragoon said, it's 99% effective, if not a little more.
thanks, but what is the chance of me getting pregnant while on it.
I get pregnant pretty easily and was on depo, like the other ladies that was my only form of birth control, and I never got pregnant while on it and got pregnant just as I had before after I stopped it!! I gained a little bit of weight as well, you just have to be careful!!!
Didn't know about it being less effective when on antibiotics, thanks martikadragoon!!!
I was on depo for 3 years and it was my only form of BCP. I have no trouble conceiving and once off the shot got pregnant within 4 months. With this baby it took 2 months of TTC. I DID gain 50 lbs on the shot and had migraines.
The shot has a very good protection rate. %99 or so. However... Antibiotics can cause it to be less effective.
thanks for the advise, i have been on it about 2 months. i am having surgury on monday to remove cancer from my cervix and my left breast.
the reason i ask is i am just curious because my fiance and i have not used protecting since i went on the depo shot. i am just wondering if down the road something would happen. but i guess there is alwyas that chance.
thanks again
I was on the depo for about a year and it was my only form of bc, no condoms, no pulling out. I didn't get pregnant while on it.
