diarrhea a sign of early labor?

I'm 23 weeks and I heard that having diarrhea is a sign of early labor? Is that true or not?

I was out of work for a week with severe diarrhea before going into preterm labor. I woke up and thought oh crap my stomach hurts runnnnn... Get to the toilet, sit there a minute and nothing happened. Then I realized it was labor and not more diarehea

My sister had diarrhea the week she went into labor. It CAN be a sign, but I wouldn't take it too seriously unless it has accompanying symptoms.

You're immune system is suppressed now that you're pregnant, so when you eat something that wouldn't have made you sick before or didn't make your non pregnant friends sick, it's because your immune system can't fight off the bad bacteria in it that it normally could. And then it responds by quickly getting the food out and it comes out as diarrhea. So that could be what happened instead of labor. But towards the end everything is loosening up inside you getting ready to push baby out so diarrhea can happen but it's not a defining symptom
