e coli

Hi, I'm about four weeks pregnant right now and I am so scared of anything that could cause a miscarriage. I have a UTI and the doctor found e coli in it. Will it hurt my baby?

I kept getting uti's for some reason about two years ago. I just kept taking the pills. It was a life saver! I picked them up at costco for like $14.

They actually have cranberry pills if you have difficulty drinking it.

E.coli is just from your poop. Some how it got too close to your vagina and the (bacteria) e.coli through off the ph level causing an infection. Normally they treat with anti biotics, however most doctors do not like prescribing it. So if its a little they might tell you to drink an extra amount of water and cranberry to flush it out. Or the mught perscribe you a little dose of penicillin.  I took penicillin at 7 weeks and i havent had any problems (now 15 weeks)  it didnt go away right away, however i drank extra water and cranberry juice, sure enough it flushed out.

Showard022 is correct. E.coli is usually the bacteria that causes a UTI. E.Coli naturally lives in your lower GI tract. Don't worry about it just take your antibiotics and you'll be fine. :-)

Most uti's are caused by ecoli. This is due to the close proximity of the anus. Just be sure to pee after intercourse, wipe front to back, and wear cotton underwear. Don't worry just take you medications they give you and it will get better. Shouldn't effect the baby unless it went untreated and you went septic.
