I had the same pain on my tailbone for about 4 days I went Monday for my regular visit and spoke to my ob about it. He looked at it and it was swollen to the size of a golf ball.  I had what they call a pilonidal cyst.  I had to go immediately to see a specialist that day.  He lanced it on Monday and I have been in pain since then.  I cannot sit,and its also painful to lay down.  I'm on an antibiotic but the only pain meds I can take is Tylenol.  I'm 32w 3d and it had swollen again to the size of a golf ball.  I have to go back in the morning to have it looked at.  My DD is also on my sciatic nerve which doubles the pain.  Not trying to scare you but I would mention it to my ob.  Could be potentially dangerous for baby.  Im scared to death that it has gotten infected, but I hope not.

My tailbone has ached, but its because I wasn't sitting properly due to sciatica. I was putting to much pressure on it... I hope yours goes away fast, bc your right, no matter how you sit/, its uncomfortable

You're hips may be separated which causes pain in the whole area.  I went through that with my second.  Lived with it for roughly 8 weeks.  Good luck with your induction.

I have the same thing. With my first pregnancy they said because of the pressure of hips and your changing body...my hips were unaligned...so it hurts at the tail bone. I am having it again this pregnancy. Prob just yours unaligned too

If it is just the position of the baby lying on your side might relieve some of the pressure.

From personal experience if you also have have pain in your leg(s) it could be sciatica, or if you've fallen possibly a bruised or broken coxyx. If the pain continues I would see a doctor. In the mean time sometimes a warm bath/shower or heating pad might help. Feel better
