genetic counseling appt tomorrow :/

I'm kind of scared for tomorrows appointment but hoping for the best. Baby's father has to work and can't make it to the appt with me but luckily my mom and best friend are going with me. Any advice on what to expect? If any moms have had to go through this?

Mine was for ds too...I was so nervous I only slept like 2-3 hours the night before, but I felt a lot better afyer the appointment even though they found a marker on her heart that doubled our chances for it. Knowing more about it made it easier to process and to know there's still a good chance baby will.be okay. We go back in a week and a half for a follow up u/s to see if anything has changed. Keeping our heads up and thinking good thoughts.till then!

Thank you! Mine is for down syndrome.. just wasn't sure what to expect but definitely glad my mom and bff are going with me!! :)

For* And having your mom and friend there well be nice since bd can't go. They might have different questions then you do and that will be helpful :)

When I had my appt with the genetic counselor last week it was mostly just informative. They went over my test results from my blood work and told me what range they should be in and what complications could arise if my levels didn't balance out. (preeclampsia for me) Then they told me all of the tests that they could do to get a more definite answer and any risks that were involved. I also had an ultrasound scheduled for that day and so they explained what they would be looking for and that they'll monitor me every other week fire the next month or two. Good luck tomorrow, try to get some sleep tonight!
