happy but confused

So my hubby and I went in to the doc yesterday for my 9w check and he had trubble finding the babys heartbeat, it took a very uncomfortable push on my cirvix for him to help find it, we heard it breifly then he lost it and serched for it agian and I thought I might have heard it a second time for a couple sec. but the doc was saying he couldnt find it agian. They just used the sound thing and I go in tomorrow for the u/s and the doc said that it seemed too small for me to be 9w and now im concerned if its just small or if I am off. I would have been happier if he said I was actually 10 weeks but he thinks im a week behind. Forgot to mention my pelvis is small and the doc and the nurse said I might have to have a c-section because of that and my mom had both my brother and I by c-section (2 diff reasons tho) and a really dont want a c-section. What can I do to help my hips open up more?

9 wks is quite early to try and hear the h/b with a doppler, alot of doctors wont even try until around 12 wks, thats when your uterus comes out of the pelvis so its easier to find, as for the talk of the c-sections, I think its way to early to be worrying you about that!!, gosh there are plenty of people with small pelvises who can give birth vafinally and as someone has already said, your ligiments in your plevis soften and loosen up before and during labour so unless your baby had a monster size head you should be able to deliver normally, when it comes to the delvery time, being upright ie not lying on your back on the bed to deliver can open your pelvis , lying on your back on a bed can make your pelvis up to 40% smaller, so positions like squatting, hands and knees etc, can help you if indeed your pelvis is abit on the smaller side :)

This is mybthird baby and my hips have never spread not.one inch. Now of course I do have a bone/cartledge disease so IDK if that has anything to do with it. But you can definitely talkbto you Dr about it and see if maybe any kind of vitamin or exercise would help

Your baby was just moving around. The same thing happened to me. I was concerned at first but my midwife just started laughing and said I have a very active baby.

As for the c section, I would recommend getting a second opinion and maybe switching doctors. Women are made to give birth vaginally and your doctor saying you need a c section at 9 weeks is not right. The c section rate in the US is at 30% when only 6% of those are medically necessary. Watch the documentary the Business of Being Born, it will really open your eyes about the c section rate and birth practices. After watching it, I found a midwife group that practices in a hospital but focuses on natural water birth.

You hips spread naturally during pregnancy. As far as not finding the hb it's probably just the baby is being stubborn or you dates are off. Either way it's not a big deal. You did atleast hear the hb. Good luck. (:

Congrats on your pregnancy! It still could just be a little early to hear the heartbeat very well or catch it. If 9 or 10 weeks I think that's the point when they can bee bop and dance around so maybe that's why?
Your pelvis does shift and widen to help accomodate your baby but in some cases it can end up being to small. If you want to try to vaginally have your baby then by all means it's your right. You can talk to your doctor about it and discuss your options for sure. If you don't like what you hear....always get a second opinion, just to make sure.
Good luck with your ultrasound :)
