Well i went back to the doctors today and it was down to 132/90 which i know is still high but it did go down. They want me to come in monday and see what it is and wednesday and then if its still high like that then they are going to put me on something to help. MY other thing is they say the baby takes an chance of being smaller if so did any of u have that problem?
I had pregnancy induced hypertension with my first pregnancy. They will monitor u more closely with more visits and then once further along they often do weekly NST's to check that baby is handling your high BP ok. I also had to make trips to labor and delivery to have labs checked and to be monitored. I ended up being induced at 38 weeks due to the blood pressure issues. Both baby and I were just fine. My BP went back to normal after she was born.
I am now almost 12 weeks preggers and hoping I do not get high BP again with this pregnancy. Doc said there is a 10% chance I will.
Exercise isnt likely to help if the high blood pressure is brought on my pregnancy (pregnancy induced hypertension PIH). PIH is a different kettle of fish than high BP in a non-pregnant person.
You will need to be monitored closely for the remainder of your pregnancy. If your BP continues to rise or is not controlled by medication you may need to be put on bedrest.
I started to get high b/p during my 1st pregnancy, I did not go on any meds they just kept an eye on it....well, when I was 37w6d I had to be induce due to it getting high and higher.....I would think the meds would help it, i dont think it would "get rid of it"....Prob has to do with you being pregnant....I am sure you and the baby will be fine, just keep an eye on it!
