kidney infection during pregnancy

Has anyone here had a kidney infection during pregnancy? And how was it treated?

I'm 34 weeks and was given antibiotics at the hospital on Sunday. The pain got worse and I went back last night and was given different antibiotics to try. From what I've read kidney infections can be dangerous for mother and baby during pregnancy and I'm concerned that I haven't been given proper checks. Maybe I'm overreacting but I just feel a bit uncared for medically. :(

I was just at the hospital last weekend for pain in my left side of my back shooting to my left abdomen. I was admitted and given some blood tests and ultrasounds. Nothing showed on my ultrasound of my kidneys but doctor and I were pretty confident I was passing a stone. -__- she said passing a kidney stone is worse than labor ! She also said it can be pretty common during pregnancy because of the organs being squished and what not. I was given dialided which made the pain go quick and I felt niceeee. I was discharged next night and went back later wakingup to pain again. Was admitted again and sent home next day with a prescription of percocets. Haven't had to take any thus far cause I think I finally passed it. Thank God. That was seriously the worst pain I've ever been in. Drink lots of water and cranberry juice. . I'm an iced tea addict lol. But I quickly broke that after that pain.

Yes i have had them for most of my pregnancy except i havnt had any since i was 28weeks but i also am causious cuz they hurt like hell and im always in the hosptial with mine sobmuch pain i throw up intell the pain is gone

Yea the first time I told my doctor about it. She sent me for a scan to make sure It wasn't kidney stones and sure enough it was. Try to mention it to your doctor next time you see him.

Thanks. I've been glued to a bottle of water for the last few days haha. The pain is all in my back and my doctor knows this :/

Yes! They hurt like a B. lol. Idno if you drink like alot of caffeine but that can case a kidney infection too. Drink lots of water take Tylenol for the pain and cranberry juice helps too. And finish all the antibiotics. If the pain is in your back you shoul tell you OB just incase it's not kidney stones!
