Can I use a ovulation (LH surge) for a pregnancy tests?

That's a debatable topic. Some people will tell you no some will tell you yes. An ovulation predictor can give you positives after ovulation if you are pregnant, but it is not a reliable way to tell. Some women have gotten a positive on an ovulation predictor and they were pregnant but you could be ovulating late, using the test incorrectly, there's a lot of reasons it could be positive. A home pregnancy test is best to use if you suspect pregnancy.

No, the ovulation test kit detects the hormone that stimulates ovulation (Luteinizing hormone). You need a pregnancy test to detect the presence of hcg (the pregnancy hormone).
