low amniotic fluid level

I should have posted this here and not in the over 35' as i'm 33 -sorry- so here goes again............

had an extra scan on tuesday as my baby is measuring up a few weeks smaller then it should be. I am 35 weeks and 5 days. The scan showed that the baby is a bit small - only about 4lbs 10ozs and that there is a very low level of fluid in there - (7). So i have to see a consultant on mon and have another scan. This is my 3rd baby and my other 2 were fine...i always measured weeks ahead and both were a week late and were big babies.
my quest is does anyone have any ideas of what outcome i can expect on monday? If fluid levels stay the same will i go to full term? Why would this baby be smaller then my previous babies and if the scan shows the level has dropped or the baby hasnt grown much would they leave him/her there or induce me??

I'm a bit confused about all of this as i fully expected to go over my DD and have a big baby. Instead i am so tired, terrible back ache and when the baby moes it actually really hurts - in saying that he/she has slowed down alot in the last week which i have mentioned to the doctors and midwife.

Any help/advice would be much appreciated. xx

I just went through this in Dec.  But I was at 22 weeks when I found out that there was no fluid around my baby.  You are far enough along that you could have your baby and your baby would be fine.  The problem with low amniotic fluid is that your baby could have a blockage of some sort and these babies are generally smaller bc they don't have as much room to move around.  I hope the drs are checking you regularly by ultrasound.  And ultra sound techs know what their talking about.  They can tell when you have less fluid than you should have.  And you would know if your water had broke.  If the dr's haven't told you yet this is called oligohydromnios.  Meaning low amniotic fluid.  Good luck and if you haven't had your baby yet, hope this helped a little bit.

hmm you ever think that maby your goin into preterm labour or maby you have your dates mixed up! You probably lost a lil aminotic fluid and never relized it at all! I mean you have the symptoms of a labour coming so..you probably have your dates off and maby the ultrasound tech didnt know what she was talking about! I honestly wouldnt worry about it,..your really due in five weeks ne ways maby its your body telling you your going to go in two or three which isnt bad! And after having two babies i would assume that you know the baby can grow lots in the next three- five weeks expecting that you go at 40 weeks!!! I hope i have set you a little bit of piece of mind,,,,im no doc but its my opinion! Try not to worry about it hun you and your baby are going to be fine!!
