offically 12 days late but negative blood test...

ia m officially 12 days late today on a 30-31 days cycle. i am never late. on the 8th day of my missed period i went to the doctor for urine and blood test but both came back negative. the doctor has asked me to come back after 3 weeks. i would like to know that is it possible that i am pregnant but it did not show up in blood test even on the 8th day of my missed period. on 22nd day of my cycle i had very light spotting for a few hours. please help me so that i can feel relieved...

OK went to the Dr's. They took a urine pregancy test that came out negative :-( He examined me and said that since all the tests came out negative, he doesn't think that I'm pregnant. Also he told me that I don't have any other health issues either. I don't think I mentioned to you that I had a m/c last month at five weeks. According to him, the hormonal imbalance is causing the cramps and pain which is due to some swelling. The spotting happened due to same the same reason as well. I have been told to wait until Nov 1 for my period, if I don't get it, it will be induced.

that is true a quanatative takes about 24 hours.  I had the qualatative done about 1 1/2 weeks ago and it came back neg.  I had the qualatative done friday b/c I am almost positive I am pregnant.  And this test should tell more.  I reccomend getting the quanatative one done to be sure.   Let us know the results

i hav my monthly menses this yr. last april I had on 23rd, may on 21st, june & july around 11. august was 7-11. Last month i forgot about it & i didnt hav any signs that il hav period that time. We had sex with my partner ist week of august & bfor i went to another place we did it once again last sept. 12.. wherein i forgot supposedly that was the usual period of my menses. But for the whole month of septmeber I didnt have my period. I was thnking maybe because from september 17-october 1 iwas working 10 hours & standing most of the time & had 1 day off that. Then on october 2 i stopped workin & had new job that started october 4 where in it wasnt so stressful at all. I only had to work like 7 hours and sitting most of the time. I was susupecting i might be pregnant so i had hpt last oct 4 but was negative. the next day when I urinate i wiped a very light pink it continued for two days (only when I wipe). then oct 6-12 some brown discharge once in awhile? is it IB ^_^, even if the discharges happened more than 18 days? or it's just AF =( ?

thanks rachie for ur info. i do not know which test it was. the result was given to me in one hour so i think it might be qualitative. i heard that for quantitative one it takes about 24 hours for the result. but i am not sure. if anyone have some more info please share. thanks.

The more days that the baby has been implanted (not fertilized two different things) the more HCG you'll produce you don't start producing HCG when the baby implants. Its possible that you ovulated later than you thought which is why you aren't coming up positive even with a blood test. Its rare but it does happen. Best thing to do it wait a week and retest with Beta HCG.

there are two differnt blood test that can be done...one is a qualatative blood test...this simply says yes or no...if your HCG is below 30 it will read no.  Then there is a qunantative blood test this gives you more information...tells you what level your HCG is.  For instance you can be 4 weeks pregnant with an HCG of 10mUI/ml but it isnt going to show as a positive on the qualatative blood test b/c level is below 30.  A non pregnant woman who has not gone through menopause should have a HCG level less than 5.  Which blood test were you two given?  Hope this helps

And  with my son I said to the nurse there is a small chance I could be pregnant and she was like well this blood test will tell us if you are and I said even if I am only like 2 days pregnant and she was like Oh yeah.... well Obviously Not. I ended up having surgery on my cervix because I thought I wasnt pregnant and it's a lucky thing my baby was fine. Doctors can be wrong sometimes too.

I had a negitive blood test that wasn't really negitive. When I was pregnant with my son they did one and I was probably a week pregnant maybe even just day when it was done and they said Nope not pregnant. A week later My boobs hurt and i was like wait a minute...and I took at test at home ....POSITIVE and now my baby is 9 months old. Weird huh?? My daughter I couldnt get a positive result until after 4 weeks pregnant.

Are either of you taking any hormones or anything?  My LMP was about a week late - and all tests were negative.  My dr has me taking prometrium starting when I ovulate.  After a negative blood test they had me stop and the period came.

thanks for ur reply...please update me about your results tomorrow....my doctor says that it is very rare that blood tast gives false negative....but he has called me after 3 weeks.....once agin please update urs result tomorrow so that i can feel somewhat relieved....

hey girl i'm in the same boat as well...isn't it frustrating when you don't know what is happening with ur body. i'm also about 10 days late, all the tests are negative. I had very light spotting (not eneough for pantiliner) for almost three days the day after my period was due.
my doctor was expecting the period up until the end of this week. but no signs yet, so tomorrow i'm going for a check up. see what he says????
does ur doctor think that you could still be pregnant?
