overdue :( {not a question}

My baby girl was supposed to make her entrance two days ago and is feeling mighty stubborn. My 40 week was on Tuesday and I'm only one centimeter dilated... so it looks like I won't be meeting her anytime soon :( But if she fails to come by the weekend I'll be at the hospital bright and early Monday to be induced.

Leaving her in for two weeks or more past due date can actually be quite dangerous. Baby's heart rate is more likely to drop and fluid levels can get low amongst other things. I understand that her due date can be off by several days and it's quite normal to deliver either a week early or a week late in any pregnancy but in my case induction seemed like not only the safer option but also the more logical.

It's an estimate - not an expiration date, not an eviction date. It would be perfectly safe for her to stay put for another two weeks - possibly safer than a forced induction. I hope she chooses her own timing so neither of your bodies have to go through the stress of a pitocin drip.
