pregant no insurance help

So i just found out im pregnant. I live in michigan and do not think i qualify for medicade because i am a small business owner. But that doesnt mean i can afgord everything. I just started the business less than 6 mo ago. I talked to an insurance rep and he told me no one will insure me because i am already pregnant. I am not married and do not live with the father of the  baby. What else do i do? Im searching now because when 8 weeks rolls around i want to already have a physcian and appointment set up.

I hears tht Medicaid cannot turn down anyone pregnant. It may not be true. But tht is what I heard hope this helps & is true. I dont think they broadcast it tho

It would be good to talk to someone in social services for your county...the qualifications for medicaid may be different since you are now pregnant.  You may be eligible so that the baby has care through the pregnancy.  Good luck!

Unfortunatley, going on my parents insurance again is not an option, they took me off when I turned 21. I think I am going to go to some hospitals and see if they have any programs to help out.

If your under the age of 26 you could be put back on your parents insurance until you are 26. I don't know how you would feel about that but its what I had to do and I'm on my own. Because I couldn't find or get medical insurence :/

I am also a small business owner. Try getting direct insurance through blue cross or united or something. I was told by a rep when I was getting it that if I have not been seen Hu a doctor or had a blood test to confirm pregnancy that the answer to that question should be no. Hope that helps.
