was prescribed blood pressure pills today....trandate....i'm 14 weeks. not sure about them. i'm scared. i don't want to harm my child, :( i don't trust any of my doctors.....

I guess i just don't trust my doctors. my family doctor forgot to send me for the routine blood work between 11 or 12 weeks till week 13. I'm week 14+1 and now its too late...it was the one where they check for abnormailities and such. so now I'm seeing another women who works in his office on thursdays. she's foren. and where I'm from foren doctors aren't all "there". They also found a small bit of protein in my urine plus the high blood pressure :( sigh.... from what I've read online, i haven't really found a whole lot about the drug...just that its a class c. which scares me. I'm on the lowest dosage possible but i guess I'm just scared. i hate taking tyonel when my back is killing me. i only take it when i absolutely need it, no more, no less.  She also said i could take advil ?? I never would, but i thought it was weird.  I've never hears of being able to take that while you're pregnant. she also had the hardest time finding the heart beat, where my family doctor finds it and it super loud, but when she found it, it was very faint, like the doppler wasnt in the right spot and i know it wasn't. My fam Dr finds it in a different spot and it so clear. it just makes me question her judgement. but she's on her game when it comes to my pregnancy. she's sending in the paperwork for my 20 week ultrasound and the down syndrome blood work. blaaah. But i started my bp pills last night, so lets hope this makes a difference.

I was put on the blood pressure pills for contractions to prevent them. So far they help me, if I miss a dose I feel my stomach tightening like if they were going to start again. I'm on procardia. I did my research before taking them n I got good reviews...good luck hun

I'm on a blood pressure med as well but mine is for contractions I've been on it since I was 20 weeks and I'm almost 27 weeks and my son is just fine I Google any meds my doctor gives me but you also have to have faith in them they don't give you something that will hurt you or your baby
