scared about delivery

Well im 18 and this is my first pregnancy and im really scared about delivery. Im 25 weeks as of Monday The 20th of Feb. And I've been really depressed. And im scared about having my daughter everyone says I shouldn't be scared. But im alone during this pregnancy. My parents are sorta here but not really. I lost all my friends during my pregnancy.. and i just wanna know if I should be worried. And wat can I expect from delivery.

It is very difficult to try to explain to a first timer! I know I was just there 7 months ago! It is very painful I'm not going to lie! It's a pain that can't be compared to anything! But once baby is out it's gone and easily forgotten! The nurses are great support in the hospital! As soon as your baby comes out you will gain the power of motherhood!  You will feel like a who le new woman that can conquer the world! I promise you won't feel lost anymore! So no, you  shouldn't be worried!

I just wanted to add that if your parents and boyfriend can't be there, you might want to look in to hiring a doula. Doulas are support women, typically with training shy of that of a midwife, intended to serve the role of a support person for the birth mother (and father if present). I got the idea from a friend who hired one for her second birth. I'm considering hiring one since I want my husband to be able to go home to be with our daughter if my labor is as long as my first.

If cost is an issue, perhaps you can find a program for young mothers that provide doulas - I know someone who is involved in a program like that in Oregon but am not sure how widespread they are. I would suggest speaking with your healthcare provider if it is something that interests you.

Trust me when I tell you labor is nothing compared to the nine months it takes getting there. I know it is a scary thought and not a great happy fun time experience but when it's all over you will think man what was I so worried about. Good luck

Just wanted to let you know that being nervous about delivery is perfectly normal and just about everyone goes through it. I had my first child at 17 and I was definitely nervous, but things went great! Now, I'm 30 and having another child and still a little apprehensive  about delivery! But I know it's just all part of the pregnancy process since it's something you don't do everyday :) You'll find that the nurses and other staff are extremely supportive and if there is a staff member who isn't, you should definitely report them (I work in a hospital). Also, so sorry to hear you lost your friends during your pregnancy, but I guarantee that during this new stage in your life, you'll make new and more supportive friends. I'm 19 and 25 weeks and 3 days. I'm pretty nervous mainly about the pain and the after affects on my body. I'm scared I'm not gonna be able to be a "tight" body form again. Like in my stomach area. :/ lol

Im 17 and im 33 weeks pregnant and also scared for delivery i wasn't at first but now that its closer to the date im feeling kinda anxious. I know our bodies are capable but im still really anxious.

Maybe your mom or dad could make a trip to see you for a week or so that way one of them can be there? Or maybe you can go stay with them for a few weeks after the baby is born? It wouldn't hurt to ask... :-) I think you should ask them!

Oh wow.. I sorta do have support my boyfriend now (not the baby daddy.) He's ganna be away for races and stuff wen I give birth and like my parents live in bama and its 8 hrs from here to bama. And I just really want my mom n dad there for me wen I give birth and I want my boyfriend there but he needs the money.. I just wish he would understand how I really need him. He keeps me calm wen im stressing and wat not. He's really the only support I got. And if he leaves for good ill have no one besides my daughter. She's the only thing I have

I was 18 when I had my oldest son... My husband went to prison like 8 weeks before he was due. So I was practically alone during my delivery, his mom was with me... But it definitely wasn't the same as if he had been there. I found strength in myself I never knew I had. And believe it or not, the nurses can tend to be very supportive and helpful throughout and after labor. I called the prison to relay a message of our sons birth and his details (weight, etc.)... The guard told me I couldn't talk to him and I balled my eyes out and told him I just wanted to talk to my husband. The guard felt so bad he almost cried... But I had to wait til the next day when they turned the phones on in the wreck yard to talk to him. But after I Hung up with the guard he had went and relayed the message even though he wasn't supposed to. It was then I realized I was alone. But I still found the strength to be in good spirits for my son and myself. My husband didn't hold our son until he was 9 months old, that was a day I will never forget.

Im 18 aswell and im 18w2d along. I am also scared about delivery. Just be strong and remember that birth is a natural thing, your body knows what to do. Itll be okay.
I know a little how you feel, my dad died unexpectedly on feb 4th and he was my main support, i dont have any friends and my support isnt very many people. Im scared but i try to remember its a natural thing and everything will be ok
