Thank you! I will my apt. isn't until the 13th so I'll be sure to tell her. I have def. been drinking lately of water and fluids like juices. And I've been eating super healthy; I'm 122 and read that I should only put on 25-30 pounds at the most. I don't eat junk food and I’ve already started to increase my veggies and fruits and have portioned my day with the wonderful food pyramid so I don't think I have to worry I just wanted to know more since my mom went through it.
HAA my mother in law who is over weight... No offense to anyone tried to tell me that I needed to eat more and more and I just told her I was going to eat healthy!
MINDY,
Thank you for your feed back as well, I def. don't want to have to worry about that haha I have stubby fingers so stubby fat fingers wouldn't be so good haha
So glad you posted this!! I was wondering about sleeping on my stomach too... But I'm only a couple of weeks and for some reason it's painful for me to sleep on my belly... Idk why!
Look for low/reduced sodium soups and broth .. It will help to cut some of the salt out and will help later on to keep you from having swollen fingers and anckles!!
I think in pregnancy you need a bit more sodium but there should be warning symptoms that you can watch for related to high blood pressure. You should also mention it to your OB so they can monitor you more closely and tell you what to be on the look out for. It's important to drink a lot of water, I know that helps. Also not gaining TOO much weight (not more than the recommended).
If you are worried about sodium intake try switching to the low sodium soups. But for the most part our bodies crave certain things for a reason especially in pregnancy so as long as you are making healthy choices (not eating a gallon of ice cream for dinner every night) don't worry too much. :)
tahnk you for the feed back!!
I am 16 weeks, and still sleep on my belly... I slept on my belly during my whole pregnancy with most of them or until I was uncomfortable.... It's ok, you can sleep however you want as long as your comfortable.
i am 25 weeks and still sleep on my tummy.
Well I believe high blood pressure can be caused by too much sodium. But as long as your not eating alot with every meal, I'd say it's ok. I'd ask the doc to see what they say.
I know I've tried sleeping on my back but end up on my stomach at some point... Also, My mom lost her third child to a disease which was caused by too much salt intake during the pregnancy but I googled what my mom called it "toxema" and it was related to high blood pressure not salt. does anyone know what it is? and how much salt a woman can take in a day? I'm eatting chicken noodle soup and the sodium is 28%!! yikes it that okay?
Well they say not to I think. BUT I did. Can't really sleep any other way. Even when I did have one I ended up that way in my sleep.
GREAT! my husband keeps waking me up telling me to turn over, LOL worrying a bit too much, but its been effecting my sleep!!
It's ok to sleepy on your tummy until you aren't physically able to anymore. I am 25 weeks and can still sleep on my tummy with no problems :)
