Every women & pregnancy is different. If you truely want to quit, then I believe you can do it. If your having trouble quitting talk to your Doctor about it. You can get help. Your not alone. Good luck with your pregnancy. (=

The comment "if your child's health isn't enough motivation then.. no comment" was rude and implying that's all she should need and I was simply saying that's not the case at all and something like that would surely make someone feel pretty awful for having a hard time quitting and that's pretty inconsiderate.

The person who asked the question ASKED if it would leave any long.term effects on the baby all haley did was answer what effects can happen if u smoke when pregnant i dont think haley was being rude at all in her answer and then @sammy u say she was never truly an addict because she was able to quit when she found out she was pregnant? Not true AT ALL my mom quit drugs when pregnant with me just as ive also quit smoking cigarettes weed and anything else well being pregnant yes some people have a harder time than others quitting and i dont think anyone here is putting them down for having a hard time quitting because i know it can be a huge struggle but i dont think u have a right to say that if u were able to quit cold turkey u were never really an addict cause u dont know everyones situation and thats not for u to say or assume about anyone.

Some ppl don't get that though they rather shun you and make u feel guilty for w,e reason sometimes some ppl don't even think before they speak. Trying to give you facts when the fact is everyone is different and weather she smokes or not she trying to quit and last time I checked this wasn't a judgment app I commend her!

Lol its the complete honest truth. Everything in pregnancy is when benefit out weighs risk. Stress is a huge factor in miscarriage.  Smoking is not. My cousin has two miscarriages doing everything by the book, quit smoking cold turkey, completely cut out caffeine etc. When she got pregnant the third time she listened to her Dr's when they said everything in moderation.  She cut down smoking, but did not quit and stress herself out, had one bottle of Pepsi a day, she now has two perfectly healthy baby boys. I had ankle surgery in the beginning of my pregnancy not knowing I was pregnant,  my biggest fear was the amount of pain killers I was on. My doctors said not only would I be fine but to keep taking them as needed because my body could not deal with that pain and my baby could not handle the stress. Stress raises your heart rate, blood pressure,  your eating havits, sleeping habits etc. So do whatever works for you personally and don't let anyone tell you how you should be doing it

It's extremely rude to throw the risks in someone's face to make them feel guilty when they are asking for advice. She asked for help not to make her feel like she is doing something terrible or what it could do to her baby. I honestly know more women who smoked while pregnant than ones that didn't and not a single complication. Of course there are risks but there are risks in anything you do while pregnant unless your literally living in a bubble eating 3 very healthy meals a day. As long as you have the will to quit and are trying is all that matters. And honestly if you can't, the stress is and lot worse on your baby and that is and fact. Every one is different just because so and so quit cold turkey over night does not mean it's easy or that you can. I wish you the best of luck but don't let anyone put you down.

Everybody deals with addiction differently some addictions are stronger than others and some can just be dropped like I said I've been smoking since I was 12 weed and cigarettes im able to put down the weed cigarettes on the other hand is a issue. Now Iddon't mean no offense but that its easier said than done and its not right to go judging ppl because of there pproblems some ppl may not have had the support u had everyone situation is different and im sorry but if you were able to quit cold turkey than you were never an addict you were always able to quit u just didn't because u thought u didn't have a reason to and that's what u wanted to do addicts struggle thats why its called an addiction.

I smoked for 5 years, I'm an alcoholic,  and ex drug addict. I don't do any of that stuff since I found out I was pregnant. If anyone knows about addiction it's me.

Ashstap18 im glad someone see's the point im making. I just can see how she feels cause im 17 weeks and although I try I haven't completely come off of smoking either I probably smoke maybe one or two cigarettes a week but its really hard im just beginning to cut back ive been smoking every since I was 12 yrs. Old so I know for a fact it ain't easy to just quit but this is supposed to be a forum for help and fun and most of the time all I see is judging and ppl putting other ppl down for whatever reason

I agree with Sammy it isn't as easy as it seems and it's way easier said than done. My cousin smoked the whole time she was pregnant, she had cut back tremendously but she just couldn't fully quit and her baby is just as healthy and happy as a non smokers baby. I had quit a month before I found out I was pregnant simply because of a chest cold, but when I hit 7 months I started stressing over money, bills, me and the hubby started fighting every day and I thought I was gonna be a single mom and I had started back smokin one or 2 a day after doing so good for 7 months. All of us moms know the risks and side effects that smoking causes, but it's extremely hard when you've relied on that feeling you get when you do it for so long.  I applaud you for deciding to quit though! :) I haven't smoked one in a while and I don't intend to. Good luck! :)

I know plenty of women who smoked while they were pregnant and had very healthy babies...I quit for awhile but now I maybe smoke 1 a day and that's only because I am having severe back pain due to my scoliosis and it is only to make my body relax...I am only doing this until my drs appointment Thursday. I don't encourage smoking but at the same time if you cut back and barely do it then it shouldn't harm the baby

I was making a point yes we all no cake is very good lol but if you eat it all the time it can be bad for your health but yet ppl eat it all the time when stressed, when happy when ever knowing it contains all sugar and can be at risk for diabetes. Lol I guess the moral of this is its just like any other bad habit and having someone basically tell you that it easy to get off something that you have been doing for a lifetime is not as easy as it seems

Come off of it gradually! Quitting anything like that cold turkey can cause problems so just be careful! But kudos to you for trying and making an effort to quit! You can do it!! Sammy, how are you honestly going to compare cigarettes and cake....? Lol. While I completely commend her for quitting, there is no doubt that smoking can cause serious problems for baby. Which is why she's quitting.
