Use gum, sunflower seed and it sounds wierd but pop rocks also helped me. I was a smoker up until the very last day of december. I think u should set a specific date for urself too, I did that and the more I thought about my baby and my date to stop, the more dedicated I was. I went from a pack to half a pack to about five cigs to a couple drags to none. If I felt the desire for a smoke I chewed gum or sucked on sunflower seeds. If I was beyond tempted for one I used pop rocks to distract myself from the urge. My husband was also a smoker. I wanted to cut it cold turkey but for one I couldnt do it and for two my doctor told me quitting cold turkey could harm the baby due to shock from the nicotine cut. Or hell even use one of those tobacco hotlines if nothing helps! Good luck to u! :)

I'm in a tobacco quit program through my hospital, and unfortunately I have not been able to quit no matter how hard I've tried or what I've tried. I'm under stress, and it stressed me out even more trying to quit. I've been smoking since I was very very young unfortunately so it's become quite the habit. Plus I started smoking in place of another habit, which makes it worse. But I try to keep it cut back as much as I can.

Stay away from the ecigs!! They've just released a new study saying that some of them have more cancer causing agents than real cigarettes, so I imagine there's more harm to the baby. I quit smoking when I found out, but my doctor did tell me that if you want to quit you should slowly get yourself off of them. Quitting causes so much stress, which makes your baby just as stressed, which in turn can harm he/she especially in the first trimester

Try taking gum around with you everywhere something sweet helps try juicy fruit. When chewing or using your mouth your brain cuts out the emotion from thought drastically this is why people find smoking a releif in the first place oral fixation gives you an unknown mental break :) if you just breathe and remember you dont want to smoke foe your babys health then chew some gum and distract yourself you will be there in no time :) keep up the good work xx

i couldn't handle the smell of smoke anymore. & every time i took a hit of the cig, i wanted to vomit. it made it a lot easier for me to quit. my husband smoked too, but he started dipping & i hate the smell of dip so it's not a temptation for me

When you see the horrible effects that can happen to the baby because of smoking, quitting will make it that much worth it. Smoking ciggs can cause cleft lip and stunted growth as well as respiratory problems. Quitting for those 9 months to avoid a life time of health challenges for your child will be worth it in the end. I promise you! I have been a smoker for 6 years and I smoked for the first 9 weeks but then it made me so sick and I looked up the effects towards the baby and it's just not worth it in the long run.

Im 21 weeks and im still smoking.. I know its bad to smoke while prego but its hard when I dont really have the support to quit. My husband smokes and everyone in the house smokes.. smoking doesnt bother me or make me sick... its the fact that no matter how many times I wash my cloths or put perfume on or lotion or body spray I can never escape the cigarette smell off my cloths.

I quit the day I found out I was pregnant. Then the smell started making me want to vomit. It was horrible. My boyfriend eventually quit too. He has one occasionally if a friend offers, but never around me. Now that I am 37 weeks the smell doesn't bother me any more I just want one. Especially after big tasty meals. :) however, I just refrain from smoking. It will get easier. Just try hard candy. I buy suckers when I really crave one.

I bought an eCIG and then found out it had more harmful chemicals in it then a normal cig. I recommend staying busy keep a timer add an hour in between each CIG. Ex. First CIG break for one hour , second CIG break for two hours etc. At first it will feel like ur over doing it but by the time u buy a second pack u will wish it was a shorter break, lol but hold strong and keep the timer going. Its super hard but it worked for me and I was done after three packs. During the craving s I would munch on something light like fruit and that wasn't too filling and make me crave harder like after meals, but allowed me to trick myself  into thinking I had my oral fix. This worked for me but if u don't have any luck with it then don't get discouraged there's tons of apps and 1800quitnow hotline and those people are amazing. Just stay focused and keep trying different things until something sticks. Good luck girl! You can do this!
