what is it for & how do they perform it ??
I have just been diagnosed with this as I thought I had thrush so mine was just a vaginal swab but came back positive for gbs sadly. Although don't panic if you do have this I've been told it's very rare to be passed onto your baby but you will still have to receive antibiotics in labour just incase xx
Risk to your child. The test is just a swab of your rectal and vaginal fluids from the outside normal. Its pretty quick and simple.
Its a bacteria that a lot of women carry that can simetimes be harmful to baby when it enters the birth canal. If you have it, they will treat you with an antibiotic during labor to helpprevent
