sudden decrease in fetal movements at 36 weeks

Hi,

I have completed 36 weeks today & till day before my baby was super active in my belly. I could very well feel & see the movements like rolling , squirming , kicks & punches .Though no of kicks had reduced over last 2-3 weeks but her other movements were  very sharp & frequent.

However, form past 1 day the movements have suddenly reduced considerably. My doc had asked my to record the movements which should be at least 10 sets from 9 am to 6 pm.

Although y'day she completed 10 movements by 6 pm, but the movements were very light & hardly 1-2 per set.Today also same thing.Hardly any movements.
I have hypothyroid but i check it every month. As per my last reports on Sep 5th ,thyroid, blood sugar,BP, protein everything was normal.
But i have swelling in my feet & pain in my fingers & pelvic area.Cant even close my fist or walk straight.

This is my 1st pregnancy & I had a real tough time bringing it this far. My gyn is out of station. I am dead scared. Pls share your experience & advise  if anyone has gone through this.

I would get checked. You are supposed to do a kick count and feel 6-10 per HOUR. Go make sure the baby is okay ;(

I had this happen only a few days ago (I'm 36+6) and went into l&d for a check. My baby was fine with a strong heartbeat, and they told me that a sudden decrease in movement around this time can be normal (baby got comfy/ran out of room) or be a sign that you are contracting or cramping up a bit. Apparently they dont like moving too much if their world is squishing them. BUT they said I should always get checked if I cant feel him move about...
So I hope this calms your fears a little, and that you call your doctor. Iknow you said he is out, but maybe someone can do the dopplar heart monitor to help you feel a little better.
Good luck :)
