I am so sorry to hear that you are going through this. Ugh the stress of the wait and see game!! I go to an at-risk doctor and for both of my boys I had an abdominal  u/s at 8 weeks. Both times they were able to see the baby and give me an accurate heartrate. I think this was the case for me because my doctors equipment is extremely up to date being that he is high risk. I am surprised they did not automatically give you a vaginal one after that, I just do not understand why they let you leave without giving you any answers.  Like the others said, I would try not to stress out about it, I know easier said then done!!! I will keep you in my prayers......by the way are the planning to do another one in the near future?? Good luck and keep us posted!

THey should have done a vaginal. I actually had one done with my son at 8 weeks and I had an extremely full bladder, so they were able to see the baby. But they couldn't give me an accurate heart rate reading. They said it varied from 80-186. I would have preferred a vag. that way I didn't have to worry so much. I'm not even sure why they do abdominal ones so early anyway. With this pregnancy they wanted me to wait until I was almost 12 weeks to have my first u/s. I didn't have to worry then. I hope everything is just fine!

I agree with Mart.  I went in when I was a little over 7 weeks and they tried the abdominal u/s, but couldn't see anything so they did a transvaginal and found the little bean.   You need to go back in a request a trasvaginal, for nothing else but to ease your mind.  I think you'll be ok.  Let us know how things go and good luck!

Ususally it's VERY HARD to see anything via abdominal U/S before 12 weeks. You need to go in and request a transvaginal U/S... I went in for a scan yesterday to find out if I'm 5 or 6 weeks... he did an abdominal scan, saw nothing.. and I requested a transvag. scan a few times... so he did that and we saw a sac, b ut nothing in it so far.
