when to test

I had a miscarriage on 12-12-11 and have not been using protection when should I take a pregnancy test? I have normal periods usually ever 28-29 days and this is my first miscarriage it was completely natural no medicine or surgery.

I agree with Stacy; when I miscarried last year I counted that pretty much the same as the start of my period, ovulated about 2 weeks later and got my period roughly a month after losing the baby. I wasn't very far along though and my HcG levels were already very low.

Most doctors advise waiting about 3 months before trying to get pregnant again, both to allow you time to recover emotionally, and to make sure you're getting a cycle that they can use to date the new pregnancy.

As far as taking a test goes, personally I'd wait at least a month, and I probably wouldn't test at all until I noticed ongoing symptoms that felt like a new pregnancy (not everybody gets symptoms I know but in my case it'd be silly to test if I didn't feel any different). Maybe also get an ovulation kit to see if/when you start ovulating again?

I had a natural mc on 9-3 of this year and didnt use protection, but I was trying to get pregnant again. I was using ovulation tests and got a positive on 9-14. My hcg levels were already at a 2 by this point. I began testing 8 days past ovulation and got a negative on the 8th day and the 9th, but a positive on the 10th day. So I got my bfp on 10-24. Had my hcg checked and it was a 9, then two days later it was 58, then four days later it was 1,175. I never had a period in between and am now 16 weeks pregnant. :) good luck girlie.

they dont need to get to 0 before you have your period, I miscarried at the end of nov and I ovulated 16 days after the start of my miscarriage, so around 8 days after I finished bleeding, everyone is right hcg levels drop at different rates for everyone, yours sound like they were comming down quite quickly, you dont need to wait to fall pregnant again, if your ready emotionally you can go for it whenever you like, especially as you didnt need any intervention or surgery to help things along, your body heals quicker that way. Usually you would count the first day of your miscarriage as the first day of your cycle, you could have quite possibly ovulated  between the 20-24 if your hcg levels have gone down enough for you to ovulate, so if your around a 28 day cycle you should expect your period around the 9th of jan

When they reach 0. Thats all I can tell you. You would have to ask your dr for another blood test to have an idea of when that may be. Even then it will take a few weeks for you to get a period after they reach 0. So your still looking at mid-late January to get your first period after this.

I'm not really trying to get pregnant I'm just not preventing it. I don't know when I should get a period. I had a miscarriage on 12-12 they took my blood the same day my levels were almost 4000 I had my blood taken again on 12-19 and my level was 56. So based on this when should I have my period?

I would wait til after you have a full true period before you try to conceive again. I didn't wait one time and lost that baby as well. Also it will take time for your hormones to go back to 0. And until then you will not ovulate since your body will think its still pregnant. So trying will be pointless. How long it takes for your levels to reach 0 though depends on your body. It could be a week it could be a couple months. Mine usually drop pretty quick but I had a friend who lost a baby at around 7 weeks and it took her 3 months before they reached 0. She never had a period until then either. But she was getting weekly blood draws to make sure they were still going down. Also unless it was a complete miscarriage some tissue may remain and so your levels won't drop all the way and a d&c will need to be done to get all of the tissue out for your levels to return to 0 and for you to start trying again.

I don't know when my period is supposed to come back. That's what I'm trying to figure out. When should my period come? What date should I test if I don't get a period?

I had a m/c back in April and my levels were 56..almost a week later my levels were down to 4...but everyone is different.

If I were you I would wait till your period is supposed to come to know that your body is back to normal.
