♡ Colby Lee is here, God is good, and we love you ladies!! ♡

okay, I've waited forever for this post.. MY BIRTH STORY!! (uploading more pics after this post) - so, here it goes..

at 5:00 A.M. on October 20, 2014 I woke up as usual to pee. I had an OB appointment at 9:15 A.M. that morning, so I was SUPER anxious to go back to bed & get a little more rest. I noticed I was cramping/contracting just as I had been the past few weeks, so I just went back to bed. around 5:30 A.M. I felt like I needed to poop, which was unusual for me, but I noticed the contractions were starting to pick up.. by 6:15 A.M. I woke up my fiancé & told him we may need to leave a little early, skip the OB appt., and just go into labor & delivery. well, we would have left.. but I kept telling him, "just wait a few more minutes, I really need to poop!!" lol! oh man, if I only knew.

by 8:00 A.M. I was leaning over the bed, dresser, sink, etc. with every contraction.. I told my fiancé, "we're not coming home without a baby. this is it!" I was in so much pain.. I was terrified to leave. well, we get in the car at 8:30 A.M. for our 30-minute drive to the hospital. we take the quickest way there, I-95, and of course we hit every red light. I was gripping the handle in the car, head leaning back, begging God to help me through the pain. my fiancé was so encouraging.. he kept saying, "just know this is normal. you're okay. Colby Lee is coming.." gosh, I don't know what I would've done without him.

we arrive in the parking lot at 9:00 A.M. on the dot & AS SOON as he parks the car.. my water breaks! we lost track of where we needed to park, so we had to walk into the building, my water streaming down my leg, into an elevator (where there were a few people.. but we didn't care!) I grabbed onto the front of my fiance's shirt, buried my face in it, moaning, up to the 3rd floor, only to find out we were on the wrong floor.. the SWEETEST lady led us to the 4th floor, where I was quickly examined & it was determined that I was already 5-6 cm. WHAT?! already?!!

I was quickly put into a room, and by 10:00 A.M. I was given pain meds & my epidural. shortly after, I was already 8 cm. 8 cm?!!!!! they told my fiancé not to leave me (to get our bags out the car), as Colby Lee could come any time.. my parents arrived, along with other friends & family, and the wait began.. a very, very short wait!

the doctor came in at some point (sorry, I was drugged up.. time was lost at this point) & said his head wasn't coming down.. and if it didn't move, we'd have to do a c-section because I was already 10 cm. I thought to myself, and I loudly said, "no, no no no no.. I didn't come this far. I'm pushing him out.. end of story." my mama & my fiancé were by my side the entire time, and I had the best nurses, doctor, etc. my nurse did EVERYTHING she could to help me move him down, and man did it work!! some time after 3:00 P.M. I told her I needed to push.. so we started!

again, time got away from me, but at 4:09 P.M. Colby Lee arrived in this world, and time stood still. they laid him on me, I held him & his hands, balled my eyes out, watched my fiancé cut the cord, and I clearly remember him saying, "I said I wasn't going to cry, but I did!" lol

it was beautiful.. quick, but it was ALL beautiful. the pain, the relief, the joy, the quickness.. it was all PERFECT! I never thought I could do it.. I never thought I had the strength to bring a human being into this world, but God gave it to me. it all came so naturally. I'm 1 week & 1 day post-partum and I feel great. I did get stitches, as I had to be cut a little, but everything is healing wonderfully! everything went so well my doctor even had time to show a newbie how to stitch, deliver, etc. & he thanked me for being so patient. I was like, "oh, no problem! I'm not going anywhere!" lol -- we laughed during labor, cried, oh it was just amazing..

my fiancé is cooking, cleaning, lifting, etc. life is good, and I thank God for our miracle. everyone is in love with him, and I'm so thankful for such a quick & smooth pregnancy, birth, etc.

sorry so long, but to sum it up: Colby Lee was born on 10/20/14 (4 days before his due date) @ 4:09 P.M. weighing 7 lbs. 13 oz. & 21" long! he had a head FULL of brown hair that he got from his mommy, and his eyes are blue (for now).. very curious to see if they'll change or not! his skin is already a little darker than mine (thanks to our Native American/Cherokee blood) & his daddy is VERY proud of that! lol

Colby Lee looks so much like my brother that passed away when I was younger.. my mama tears up every time she sees him. it's UNREAL! I just knew he was given to us for a reason.. I know Brent Lee hugged & kissed our sweet boy before God sent him down to us! he's our angel, and being his mommy is the greatest gift, ever. his daddy & I are overjoyed, along with him nana, papa, and everyone else!!! I could go on & on, but I'll stop lol - my 6-week appt. is in December, and his 2-week appt. is next Wednesday! we may go Monday if his gassy belly doesn't get better, but other than that all is well.. continue to keep us in your prayers, and I'll do the same for all of you! I'll continue to stay on here as often as possible for updates too!

we love you ladies!!!!!!!!!!! & thank you for everything! prayers work!! kisses from me & Colby Lee!!! ♡ (((((:

AND the epidural wasn't what I expected.. the hardest part was staying still during the contractions, but it was such a relief, and I was walking (with assistance) to the bathroom as soon as I got to my room afterwards. by the 2nd trip to the bathroom, I was walking alone with no help! ((:
