Cold Sore Treatment

Hey all, so I had a cold sore pop up today, they are normal occurence for me every few months. I have had yet to have while pregnant but now sure enough here it is. I am 16w 1d and I am debating on if my normal routine to rid myself of them is safe while pregnant. I would usually apply my Acyclovir ointment a few times a day to the cold sore and take two pills of Lysine, one in the morning and one at night and usually in a day or two it would be gone. I just wasn't sure if using these two things was safe while pregnant. I will be calling my doctor tomorrow to ask but I would love anyones opinion on anyone who has used these products while pregnant. Thank you!

I had a cold sore pop up when I was around 8 or 9 weeks pregnant.  I was hesitant to take my Valtrex pill bc was not sure if it was safe but later found out it would have been okay. I used abreava several times a day and it was gone in about 5 days. Cold sores are the worst!

I've had cold sores almost my whole pregnancy my doctor prescribed me valtrex and it helps somewhat but I also use abriva. But since your immune system is kinda down they come back quicker and they take longer to get rid of it freaking *****
