Is it possible to have a hidden twin untill birth

I am like 5ft3inch tall. I used to weigh 110 now iam 36week pregnant and w eighing 157pounds. I have had about 4 sonograms aince week 14. I know for sure my doctor kept making me draw blood because he was in doubt with my weight gain. I just did draw blood a week ago and resukts came back 100%normal. Twins do run in my family my mom had two cute girls so swet! Me myself i am not into twins soo much but everybody i meet see ooo are you having twins ( my belly is very big). I believe it is just one baby too cos that's what i see en saw on the scan. And besides regardless of the huge belly. He also moves like crazy till now he has just slowed abit since the tummy dropped down. I kind of thought so too that it might be two human beings in there!due to crazy swimming kicking bouncing car racing movements he exposed, plus the size of belly. I am not huge in size. Am very tiny so i thought maybe cos i am tiny the stomach is bigger!. The only thing i know about my baby is that he has an extra finger on the left hand. That is no suprise to me. Because as i said earlier my mom had twins and they both had extra finger on their left hand..... its in the blood. But just wondering do you ladies think i have a hidde twin till now. Am 36weeks and stopped recieving songrams. Sorry for the long writting. Waiting for your response please. Thanks.

My father in law is a twin and one of my cousins is a twin also. Both mothers did not know they were carryin twins until around 5 months. Everyone keeps telling me I have twins since I'm showing at 10 weeks already.

It wasn't my cousin, it was a friend if my mom's daughter that it happened to. And she didn't see a Dr till almost her due date so the baby's were squashed together. She didn't want to tell anyone she was pregnant again, it was like her 8th pregnancy.

I thank you for that feedback, your cousin was told in her third trimster that she was having one baby en boy. So i imagine since we infer that sonograms are accurate how could they miss the both the sex en a number of babies at that stage. Thats why i say. There can be hidden twins. Maybe for my case not but perhaps other pipo do get it. My sonographers have been telling me its a boy even took pictures of this gender parts. But if it turns out to be the opposite. Then i will be sooo suprised cause i kinda of believe everything they tell me. Anyways, now i believe some women can go for as many sonograms and they come out one baby and then at delivery they hive birth to two. Its possible. Again, am not saying me( i know mine is just one baby in there).

I have only heard of a hidden twin (with being on "I didn't know I was pregnant") once and that's because she waited till her 3 trimester to seek prenatal care. She was told she was having a boy and delivered twin girls. Seeing how you have been getting prenatal care the while time I do not think that you have a hidden twin in there. I know that they double checked me for twins because they run on my mom's side, and they're all over the place every generation one of the cousins will give birth to a set.

If ur having a healthy diet then it might be the amount of amniotic fluid u have or its just a bigger baby. But there is no way they would miss another baby this far.

You probably did not 'gain too much weight'. Some people just put on more. Every pregnancy I put on around 50 pounds (I start below 115). I have large babies, which accounts for some extra, but the rest, no one even believes me when I say how much I put on, they (nor I) can tell where the large amount of weight is even stored. My midwife says it's fine, and I lose it all by 4 months after the birth. Your numbers are above average but that doesn't mean you've done anything wrong or dangerous! Keep eating healthy and don't worry about it!

Thnaks dear!! Am sorry for that unfortune.Glory to God that your other baby survived. I really dont eat that much and not junk food either cos i am very concious. Not to harm.my baby i even eat fish salmon name it that is recommended for healthy baby so that i dont hurt my baby. Being my very first baby! I have to do whatever it takes i can just eat eat like that. I guess this weight thing is comfusing to me. As to where it is coming from. But let me wait upon God who begin this miracle inside of me. Thanks ladies for sharing.

No. If u were told it's just one then it's just one. It's pretty hard to miss at this point. It's possible to miss in the beginning but not this far on. U just gained too much weight. R u watching what u eat ot ur just eating away? It happen to me with my first pregnancy I believed the ur eating for 2 n I just gained weight 60 lbs total. But it was all just bad eating. I weighed 93 lbs at the beginning n gain 60. It was hard to lose it. Took years. My 2nd pregnancy I was more careful. N those were twins. They missed it in my 1st sonogram but by my 2nd sonogram they saw it. Unfortunately the heart wasn't beating. So I had a sonogram every appt to make sure it vanished on its own. When the baby was gone the sac still stayed n didn't go away til 5 months. The doc said if the sac didn't disappear on its own by 6 months they had to go in thru my belly button to remove it or it would cause the 2nd baby to have short limbs. So no they wouldn't miss.

They likely would've seen another baby if there was one.
