During my 12 week scan there was multiple markers and then I had a blood test which put me at 1:2. It was confirmed at birth that he had downs. To be honest tho it's not as bad as people expect it to be he does everything a typical child would it just takes him a little bit longer to learn it x
These tests have a really high rate of being wrong combined with the markers from your scan. I had a one in two chance of my son having downs which he does and my friend had a 1 in 5 chance of her son having downs and he didn't. I understand it's not what you planned for but if i could go back to when I got my results I would slap my self for being so silly and thinking it's the end of the world. I do hope you get the results you want and in the mean time try not to stress I know it's a difficult time but stress isn't going to help the matter xx
A friend of mine had a high risk of downs. A 1 in 30 chance. He came out without any problems. Not saying everyone's the same but just letting you know that they aren't always accurate x
Hi, I was in the same situation as you when I was 12 weeks pregnant.. let me tell you it is not that accurate and it is just a screening not even a diagnostic... they told me that I am a high risk to have a child with Down syndrome or with heart problems I did cvs procedure ( which is the diagnostic) and it came back clear then they said it is heart problems and they keep monitoring me till I reached 28 weeks and till now every thing looks normal ... so I didn't enjoy my pregnancy because I was so scared about my baby
My advice to you don't stress about because as ai said it is only screening.
Did you do the nipt test or the quad screening? The quad screening tends to cause a lot of unnecessary stress and most of the time nothing ends up being wrong.
