I'm totally okay with the on call dr and actually like a few of them better so while I get him wanting it to be convientent I personally feel like inducing for non medical reasons just isn't nessisary.
If he was concerened about anything medical I might be persuaded to induce. But even then, my old OB has told me he's on call for any emergency that arise or here for me if I feel I need a second option. He just doesn't normally deliver anymore (he delivered my husband 33 years ago) so I had to transfer care for the second half of my pregnancy this time around.
My OB will be out of town the week before I'm due. She was with my first too. She hasn't even considered inducing me for that reason. If you are comfortable with the on call doctor delivering your baby if your doctor happens to be gone when you go into labor I see no reason to be induced since you clearly don't want to be.
I only have 18 days left! This is my 3rd pregnancy... because all of the problems I have had this pregnancy they will take him c-section.. I had my 2 girls natural... the problems lay is he wants to take him 39 weeks, which my ob will be on vacation this week.. so it's not written in stone yet but will be, they r letting me go my full 40 weeks and taking him on my due date the 21st! I'm nervous!
