2-hour glucose test

I received a call from my doctor's office today informing me that my glucose results came back a little high and we scheduled the 2-hour test for early next week. At the time I forgot to ask what I needed to do or not do prior to taking the test and now that it's after regular business hours I'd thought I'd get advice from women who have taken the test before.
I'd appreciate any knowledge or advice on the subject. Thanks!

Also, Don't avoid water all together during the fast because you will be dehydrated and may get sick or pass out.

I work in a lab. Don't do anything different just eat like you normally do and then just don't eat or drink anything besides water for 12 hours prior to your test. After you drink the sugar drink don't eat or drink anything but sips of water till you've had your last blood draw. Good luck! :)

You are supposed to come in fasting. No food or drink including water after midnight.

I would call but, as I said, by the time I thought about this it was after business hours and my test is first thing on Monday. What I've read online has confirmed what the other ladies have mentioned... Eat carbs up until about 12 hours before the test and then fast.

I had this done 2 weeks ago. Fast for 12 hours before your test. If you need a drink just sip water. That's all. They will take your blood make you drink a glucose drink and then take your blood again 2 hours later. Unfortunately I found out I do have gestational diabetes but so far can control this through my diet. Good luck and let us know how you get on x

Your supposed to "carb load" three days prior to the test and then fast for 12 hours before the test. You can just Google that because it's a lot of information. I failed my one hour as well but then passed my 3 hour :) good luck!
