36 weeks but measuring 40 weeks.

So this is my third pregnancy and I will be 36 weeks tomorrow according to my doctors. AND apparently when I went to my appointment today my doctor said I am reading at 40 weeks instead of 36 weeks. He checked and said my appointment before that I measured at 39 weeks instead of 34 weeks. They just neglected to mention that to me. So he told me he has requested a ultra sound to see if the baby is large and may need to be born earlier. I am a bit worried though. Has anyone gone through this? And anyone know if there is any risks?

Update: So when I went to my doctors they did a mini ultra sound and said his head is at the right size but his body is a bit larger. His body high is the same size as a 39 week old when now I am only 37 weeks. He will be a bit larger but I am sure iv can handle him. But I am wondering if he will come earlier or later then 40 weeks.

I am going through the same thing now. He currently measuring 3 weeks bigger... I have another ultrasound scheduled on Wednesday so I will see what they say then... I hope it's good news because I really do not want a c-section

I measured 4 weeks ahead starting at 32 weeks I ended up with a csec at 39 weeks for multiple reasons one of them being my baby girl was almost 10 lbs.  Healthy and beautiful... Best of luck!

I'm getting ready to go through this too. Been measuring 3 weeks ahead for two months. At my next appointment (36 weeks) if it's still the same story I will have my ultrasound scheduled. But if he is big, they won't induce me because my goal is a VBSC so I'd have to have a c section. (Or induce myself) please please update when you know!
