40+ weeks pregnant

I'm 41 weeks & 5 days pregnant. This is my second child. I've always heard that the second child doesn't go this far along. I have had contractions but nothing bad enough to send me in. I've seen what I thought should be my mucus plug like a week ago. My major problem is everything is swollen. Feet, ankles, legs, and hands. Should I just sit around and wait for the baby or should I go on into the birthing center?

I was induced 10 days after my due date. It seems most doctors here won't let you go much further than that. I was seeing my doc every week at that stage and the induction was scheduled about a week beforehand. If a had him before then so be it but if not at least I knew it was sorted. I would just go in and see your doc and see what he says.

Wow that's l8 they don't usually advise to go too much over 41wks. This is my 4th child I've luckiky never gone over 40 (hope this is the same) I am 38+3 days ready to have it ANY day now!
I couldn't wait that long I'm uncomfortable already lol my 3rd was the latest & day after he was born I was booked to get induced. Good luck!

I'm 10 days past due with my third, my mother in law really wanted me to go in last night just to make sure the baby isn't stressed out. I'm on my way back right now to be induced. I think you should defiantly go in just to be sure your baby is ok. They'll check baby's heart rate, check your blood pressure, hook you up to the contraction monitor & maybe check your cervix :)

I went to 42 weeks w my second before I was induced. I really didn't want to be but concern for baby having his first bowel movement was enough. I went to labor and delivery at 41+2 just to have a us and see if all was well. That's when we set up a date for induction.
