40 weeks today!! I'm feeling really emotional today not to mention sore & uncomfortable. No sign of baby as yet but we're hanging in there. Midwife appointment tomorrow so we'll see how it goes.
9 months is a long time to be pregnant. I thought Id share my top tips for pregnancy in hopes it might help some of you ladies, here it goes:
1. Eat well, small & often avoid laying down after eating to avoid intergestion. Junk food is just an energy zapper. Fruit, yoghurt, cereal, lean meats & vegies are the way to go. I've only put on 11kgs.
2. Drink lots of water, without it you'll get constipation. I learnt the hard way. It is a killer I thought I was in labour.
3. Don't start shopping until 3rd trimester, the pregnancy gets harder towards the end & any distraction is welcome. And you'll save loads of money.
4. Buy second hand so grateful we did I've saved £1500. That's an extra 3 months I can stay home with the baby before I have to go back to work.
5. Try to live life without being obsessive about the pregnancy. The more you keep busy doing other things the quicker & easier it will be.
6. Practice some sort of meditation or relaxation daily. I'm planning for a hynobirth but even if it's not your thing it's the best way to focus your mind & destress.
7. Get groceries delivered towards the end, I haven't been able to handle the supermarket for the last month. Those delivery guys are life savers.
8. Exercise! A half hour walk per day or a swim makes you feel so much better & will help keep you fit for labour.
9. Try to avoid watching too much TV slouching on the couch makes your back ache & can turn baby the wrong way. Read books or listen to the radio instead.
10. Spend time alone talking to your baby, singing or playing them music. I feel so connected to bub already & he/she responds to my voice & touch. It's amazing when bub pushes a little foot into my hand. Love you little bub x x
Good luck ladies & wish me luck for a natural & safe delivery!!
