I've taken antibiotics during pregnancy and it's been fine (amoxycillan and cephalexin).

But if your doc has given it to you for something stupid, like a cold or a cough, without testing a swab, maybe get a second opinion. Some doctors prescribe antibiotics way beyong what's recommended by research, and they are not good for you to take health wise as they kill off all the good bacteria which maintains good digestion and immunity.

However if it's for an actual infection, and you've been tested with a positive result for infection (UTI, throat etc) then it's important to take it as your body generally has a lower immunity when pregnant and infections can get worse quickly. I still try natural measures for a few days if I can (intense garlic, vit C, Echinacea or whatever natural treatments seem good for the particular condition) and take antibiotics if that doesn't work, but if you're not doing natural treatments then I'd probably just take the antibiotics. Better to kill the infection then take probiotics afterwards to build up health again. Antibiotics labelled as safe for pregnancy aren't dangerous for your baby.

I haven't taken it during pregnancy, but it is an antibiotic, right? Which means you have some sort of infection which needs to be treated. If your doc knows you are pregnant and prescribed it, then you need to take it. If you don't the infection can spread or worsen and that will be a lot worse for you and baby.
