Am I crazy?

So I'm currently doing my baby registry and I'm looking at thermometers and don't like any of them. What I really want is a Welch Allyn one but its $230. My husband thinks I'm nuts but it'll last forever and it has separate oral and rectal probes as well as an axillary setting. Am I completely nuts for wanting to buy this? Lol

Elvendork that is true. I also love how fast it gives readings. The digital one I have now takes forever to give a reading, especially if its high and children don't have the patience for that.

i think it is because you are a nurse and you know what is up with cheap thermometers. I was really mad when I broke my old mercury one...

I just always loved the one I use for work, and I will never buy an ear or forehead scan thermometer I don't trust them one bit.

CRAZY EXPENSIVE!!!! There are so many other things you can purchase with that money. I have the Mobi DualScan ULTRA Ear & Forehead Talking Digital Thermometer It was $40 at Babies r Us and I have had it for years! I love it!!!! Don't go crazy on a thermometer. If they break they are cheap enough to replace.

I actually found one for $45 that has three separate probes, hopefully I like it.

Kprince2 the batteries have died or they got lost or broken. plus the cats have their own (I have one cat who gets fevers so he has his own labelled "cat butt- don't use")

I already know how I feel about the small digital ones (I've gone through six this year lol) which is why I want a nice one that'll last. I refuse to allow a temporal scanner or ear thermometer in my home so those are also out.

Don't buy that just yet. Wait until after baby comes and see how you feel. I made several expensive purchases and felt a bit naive later. most moms getby just fine without a 230 dollar thermometer
