I suggest liquid chlorophyll. It's known as the "blood of plants." I take it now and I'm 30weeks. Best natural way for iron intake! Make sure you follow directions on the bottle. The kind I use is World Organic Liquid Chlorophyll 100 mg.

One excellent way I was told was a smoothie every day or every other day. Ice, lots of fresh spinach, strawberries and a banana. It's delicious and really has helped.

Everything she said is what my midwife had me do, Aldo I was told something about cast iron help your iron go up. Do if you have a kettle or pan cook as much if your food that way.

If you can't get it up by diet the iron supplements are a must. My first took all my iron and I had to have a prescription of iron to avoid anemia during labor (greater risk of bleeding)

You can start taking a spoon of molasses every morning. Take green leafy veggies and dont overcook your food. Avoid coffee or tea with your food. Eat vitamin C rich fruits to help your body absorb the iron in foods. Red meat is an excellent sources. White meat too Try spinach in everything.
