Change of docs

I went for my 34 week check yesterday only to find my doc has been changed for a 3rd time, I need to be consultant led as I had serious issues with my last birth, I had a plan in place with the 2nd doctor which eased my anxiety alot as she pretty much said she will work with me and check me at 38 and 39 weeks and give me a helping hand to get started if my body was ready and if not she would book me for a last minute section, the doc I had yesterday clearly hadn't read any of my notes and told me to come bk at full term, I had a melt down in the hospital and had to fight with him to get checked at 38 weeks and possibly a sweep to see if that will get things moving! I ended up 8 days over last time and came very close to losing my daughter and had to go under general anesthetic for a crash section, I'm so nervous this will happen again and my last doc really put me at ease and now this doc doesn't seem to give a hoot about how I'm feeling and doesn't understand why I'm so anxious, has anyone else experienced this?

I would try to relax as much as possible about the reduced movements, as the previous commenter was correct in saying that the bigger the baby gets, the less room they have to move and less movement is to be expected. However, I would do what you can to get a new provider for the birth. It is very important not only that you be comfortable with and trust whoever is delivering your child, but they need to listen to you and hear your concerns as well.

Thank u for replying ur right as far as trusting my birth provider but please don't take this the wrong way, regarding movement the babies movements shouldn't change right up til and during labour, I learnt this the hard way and only for my gut telling me something was wrong with my first pregnancy I would have had a very different outcome! Thankfully there is a charity called kicks count that offers great advice on movements during pregnancy, I don't mean to sound harsh but this is something very close to my heart and I hate hearing someone say things like this because they have been given the wrong info xx always monitor baby movements x

I think that you need to refuse to see that particular Dr. they can not force you to if you decline them. You need and deserve understanding and compassion and if they can't give it to you you need to ask for another Dr. and report the situation to the office manager.

I'm so sorry this is happening.  Your feeling should Akeaus be taking into play when possible and right now it is.
I would suggest taking somebody with you for your next apt who can get angry and pushy for you so...you can try and keep calm.

Also I found my insurance was amazing helping me, I called and asked what other OB's I could use and they gave me 3 options. It might be worth calling. Your OB should make you feel calm and relaxed not upset.

Can I ask why your last OB (who you liked) was removed from your case?

She was just a temp but I wasn't told this when I first seen her, I was so annoyed yesterday leaving the hospital! I live in Northern Ireland so I go through the NHS so no need for medical insurance

I didn't realise how badly the last birth affected me mentally until I had reduced movements 2 weeks ago and now I'm worried sick, even more so since my app yesterday, surely how I'm feeling should be taken into consideration

I think that reduced movements can be normal in the last part of pregnancy due to the face that the baby has less and less room to move around.
*fact (not face)
