My son just got out of the hospital a few days ago with it. But the doctors never mentioned it to me, they only reason I was able to find out is because someone called me from the health department and told me that he came back positive for the virus and it was mandatory to follow up with the patient after exposure. This left me kinda upset with the hospital staff because they left me in the blind about my son's health, not to mention I'm 37/4days pregnant!
I also have a 2nd grader and kindergartner! And I'm 33 weeks! I live in Oh and we have kids at the school who have been exposed and who have been ill. My little one has asthma . I am nervous that my kiddos will get exposed, so I'm super concerned!!! I have just been reminding them of good hand washing and keep telling them to not ouch their mouth and nose and eyes. Keeping fingers crossed.
Aww you poor thing!!! It's very fortunate your not showing symptoms (starts off like a cold, right?)!!! I would have been up set just like like you!! How is your son?? How old is he?
He's much better now. Still has a little congestion, but otherwise fine.. he's 6
This has been around for yrs. Its the news making a huge deal out of it. Just keep your little one covered it starts as a cold.
It scares me to. My daughter has bad asthma as well. She got strep and had asthma flare just 2 days into school. She is 4. I know it's in Iowa but have not known someone around my area who has this. It is scary.
Yes, obviously in my question above a stated it's been around since the 1960's, although it's at it all time high rates. And it's not the "news" that's bothering me, it's actually seeing "physically" how many children are on the hospital, elderly and pregnant women. I have to go for weekly monitoring at the hospital. It's horrible here!! :/
I'm concerned too. I'm in Ohio and already kids at our nationwide children's hospital ate there and had to have trachs because their throats were too swollen to have a ventilator put in. We are washing hands a lot around here.
Kee_mommy_of_3*** I am glad to hear hes doing much better!!!! Yah!!! Blessings your way, and for your children!!! :-)
Our news said no one had died so far so that is excellent news. It's scary but at least the kids are pulling through. I have a 2 yr old and pregnant with twins.
AprilMay24** I just said a prayer for you and your little princess!! I am hoping the best for little girl!!!!!! My daughter struggles with asthma, she wasn't born with asthmatic complications although after having a horrible case of RSV, asthma was a result. They said she would "grow" out of it, I sure hope so!!! She just turned 3!! Still...I am worried!
Emilee99** Congratulations, twins are beautiful!! And yes the whole virus is icky even thinking about, I don't get concerned much but Ebola patients we have here in Atlanta Georgia and this E-D68 has me thinking twice lol!! Yes, the children are in fact pulling through but it's the suffering that breaks my heart!!!!! I have a 7 year old, almost 6 year old, 4 and a half year old, 3 year old, 14 month old and am 33 weeks and 6 days pregnant..;) Still bugging though!!
I'm very concerned as my daughter she's 2 has had a cold symptoms for 2 weeks already I haven't taken her in because every time I do they never give me anything for her just always tylenol. She hasn't ran a fever anymore but the cough and runny nose is still there. So I been giving her meds..I also have a 4 yr old son.and 16 weeks pregnant the good thing is my kids aren't in school yet so trying to stay in and protected and healthy habits is a must. I'm a CNA so I need to be careful also bc am exposed to alot of germs. I live in Minnesota and it just hit. We just all need to be very careful prayers!
The good thing about this, you can NOT die from it. It gets severe and will pass
I'm in Wisconsin and it hasn't hit us yet but I have a 5 year old in school a 4, and a 2 year old at home and I'm 25w today so I'm very scared and nervous Cuz when my 5 year old was a baby he was in the hospital with sevre RSV I hope it doesn't come my way
Hi there, wow, it sounds like your hands are full.
I think if everyone keeps washing their hands as much as they can they will be ok.
Washing hands, not touching face will help quite a bit.
I hope all of you and your little ones are ok. I don't know what I would do if I had young children.
