Here (Michigan) it's still 37 weeks, but someone just td me they are trying to change that. My first was born at 34 weeks, I had steroids at 32 weeks when my water broke. He spent 6 days in NICU and came home with no special instructions or equipment. He's now a healthy 12 yr old. My cousin had her first at 35 weeks and he went home with her at 2 days old. He is a healthy 13 yr old.
My doctor told me 37 weeks is no longer term. 37 weeks is early term, 38 is midterm and 39 is full term. So even at 37 weeks you're still not full term. In my state it has actually become illegal to induce labor before 39 weeks unless it's medically necessary. But I live in Florida. Good luck though
I had that for a while, but started physiotherapy and it helped tremendously.
Anything before 37wks is premature. However remember if baby does appear a little early you have reached the major milestone of 24wks (viability) and the next one of 28wks (i think their ability to breatj improves here, but they still require steroids and assistance.
After 34wks they often don't require steroids but a few weeks in NICU. Your survival rate is still 95-98%. Hang in there and you'll be fine x
Well anything before 37 weeks is considered premature...
