Being pressured

Ok so I went to an antinatal appointment today and the consultant was really blunt she asked if I was having my tubes tied after this one as this is my 3rd  c-section and my 2nd is only 10 months old I said we were planning on having one more then I was going to have it done then she started on about how dangerous it is after 3 c sections coz of scar tissue ect that I could die I could have to have a hysterectomy and that's really dangerous during a c-section I want to know how many of you have had more than 3 sections and if you have had any problems ? I'm now considering just letting them cut my tubes as I feel pressured

I'm going thru the same thing except I have had all mine vaginally. They told me because my children are so close in age that it could be dangerous for me. I even found out I was in the papers to have my tubes tied after I give birth but I'm not going to do it. That's your body and I feel no one can make that decision for you. If you want a 4th have it. My aunt is on her 5th c section and she's fine. Praying it all works it out for you

I am 26 weeks pregnant with my 4th and will be delivering her by c section as i have had my other 3 by c section. There are so many people that have 4, 5 or 6 c sections and are Just fine. Just stick with your gut feeling and give your body a year between pregnancys to recover.

I don't mean to scare you but with any pregnancy through vaginal birth or csection the chances are dying are there. I almost died giving birth to my little girl because I couldn't stop bleeding and I had her vaginally. Don't let some one scare you into doing something you don't want to do.

Thanks for the post I just had my 3rd csection on Nov 30th I was asked the same thing if I wanted my tubes tied but I said no..they didn't mention anything about it being dangerous if I got pregnant again but they also in the same breath of me saying no talked to my guy about getting snipped...I'm pretty sure I'm done (4 kids in the home..3 biological and one step) but to me getting my tubes tied seems so final I don't like that...that being said all the kids in the home r boys..so I guess for me it was more so if I tied my tubes I would never be having a girl. even tho with my track record it doesn't seem like a girl is in my future anyways....i say it's for sure ur decision and happy baby making :)

My best friend had 4 c sections the doctors told  her the same thing  after her 3rd child she should get a tubal ligation and kept suggesting it was the safer route to get fixed . Well she refused to and didn't she got pregnant again 2 years after her 3 rd and made it to 40 weeks she did get fixed after that one . She said she took longer to heal and the pain was worse but she doesn't regret making that decision.

Have as many as you want! It's your body! I'm on my 3rd c-section and I'm choosing to get a tube ligation by choice not for anyone else's opinion.

Also try and space the next pregnancy.  Try and give yourself a  year or so to heal properly before you get pregnant.  Heard it really is idea for c section.

My mother in law said after 3 sections if you get pregnant again they make you get rid of it don't know how true it was or if it was just her friend more at risk. I don't think they can make you do anything but obviously are looking out for your best interests x

That person is not a doctor...Talk to your doctor and don't allow this person to make you do anything your not sure about doing. Its your body.

I have a friend who has had 7 c-sections. She hasn't had problems, so it can be done. There are risks but if you feel another baby is right for your family don't be pressured!

I'm not longer a vbac candidate due to this being my 3rd and my last is only 10 months old

Don't allow anyone to make you do something you don't want to do. I have heard there are risks to having multiple c sections. Would you consider vbac for your next child? Not sure you're still a candidate but this would be something to ask. She's really not trying to pressure you but is making sure you know how dangerous it can be. Doesn't matter if someone else did it and was OK cause your case could turn out just the opposite.
