177 bpm safe to say girl?

Had first ultrasound at 11 weeks on Friday.  My friend who has three boys tells me I'm having a girl based on the heartbeat.  I'm just wondering if anyone else believe this has any truth.  I didn't want to find out the sex but know for some reason I can't wait to know.  When I saw my lil one on that screen it got me so super excited.  I haven't felt pregnant so this was conformation I needed.  Now to have a clue on the sex is exciting as well.

No correlation between FHR and gender.

It's just an old wives tale. Usually that early in pregnancy all babies heartbeat are that high. As you get farther along it will probably change but that doesn't mean anything.

My little boys heart rate was always low throughout my pregnancy they said i was probably having a girl. I am pregnant with no4 and at my app the heart rate was 130 and midwife and my mum said i was having a boy. Turns out im having a girl. So i think the heart rate thing is a little unreliable. Fun guessing tho :)

Nah. My sons was 170s all throughout pregnancy. He was an active baby. Constantly moving and once he was born he stayed active! He's two now and barely stops to eat and drink. Lol

My doctor told me that the smaller the baby is...meaning the less amount of weeks you are, the faster the heart rate is. I liked to listen to those old wives tales, but now that I know im having a boy and his heart rate is up in what "determines a girl" none of them stood true.

Heartbeat doesn't determine gender. I have a boy and girl with another girl on the way.  All their heartbeats were within the same range.

I'm having a boy but his heartbeat has been consistently high. I originally thought I was having a girl too, because of heart beat but I was wrong. Lol

My babys hb was 160 at my 12 week apt. I asked the doc if that meant girl and he said not this early. Idk when the HB can indicate gender, he just said not early on.
