Make sure you can get in touch with a lactation consultant by phone or in person they are great encouragement and full of advice. Ice packs, heat packs, gel packs, nipple cream, hot showers and LOTS of patience will help ease the discomforts of breastfeeding. I enjoyed my second go around because I was more educated and had more info about baby growth spurts, unlike my first when I thought I wasn't making enough milk.
This is my fourth pregnancy and I breastfed with all and plan to do the same with this one. It went well, there is so many benefits. I didn't have any pain, it's all about getting them to "latch on" properly.
I breast fed my son for almost a year and never had any pain. Until he bit when he got teeth;) but I loved my breast feeding experience and I can't wait to breastfeed this baby:) totally worth it. The bond you feel is so amazing not to mention all the other benefits
This is my second child. I breast feed my daughter for 2.5 yrs. At first she didnt latch and it hurt alot. I brought a nipple creame and shield and used it till my daughter could latch without it. You'll get use to pain once the baby starts latching correctly. After every feeding, clean your nipples and let it dry and put nipple cream bc you can develop an infection and it hurts bad. Best of luck, dont give up bc breast milk is the.best for your baby. If baby can't latch go get help or just pump and bottle feed
