Breastfeeding is so painful...

I had my lil prince on sunday and have been breastfeeding ever since bit its was so painful i cried a few times it also made me moody since hurt all over...but i didn't trow in the towel since my lil prince needs my liquid gold lol to get my milk in faster i was adviced to pump as soon as i left the hospital and even tho i wanted to do it all natural giving him a bottle of breastmilk is ok with me. At 7 i had to pump but my lil guy was also hungry so while my dad warmed his bottle i put him on my left breast see if he latch propertly and he did.this time i breastfeed him with out feeling pain. At the same time i pumped my right breast. I can say i enjoyed feeding him for the first time! Now o cant wait for my right nipple to heal. Fist time mommas don't give up!!

My last baby never latched properly but she had no trouble getting the milk out.. I breastfed her until she was 18-19 months old. She still tries to nurse if I let her, she runs around the house screaming boobies boobies boobies holding her arms up..lol.. makes my husband uncomfortable...

For sure after two weeks the nipple soreness goes away.

It shouldn't hurt if they're latching properly. I'd seek help if it's that painful. La Leche League or something.

Way to stick with it mama! It can take a bit to get the latch correct and is so easy to give up. Lactation consultants are a great resource from La Lache. Your pedi office or doc/midwife can refer you to one.  Glad you kept trying  and congratulations!

Yay!  Proper latch is the key. Always get your dr to check for a tongue tie. I almost gave up as my son wouldn't latch and 3 days later a random nurse swiped her finger under his tongue and had a surgeon come and sort it out. Bless her.

On the little box it has this quote, "breastfeeding is like all of motherhood. Sometimes it hurts, sometimes is wonderful, sometimes it brings tears to your eyes, and you wouldn't change anything."
I love it!!

It does hurt,  but the more you do it the easier it gets.  I was in pain with both my girls and had blisters, but consultant insisted I continue to breastfeed thru the pain and it really did help!  Keep up the good work!

Yeah, it will hurt at first.  But the more often that you do it, you will get used to it and it won't hurt anymore.  Nice job putting in the effort and will to succeed :)

I know it hurts. Keep hanging in there! As soon as they heal feeding will be a breeze.
