CONTRACTIONS?

I'm not in this age group, but everyone in the other age group is always asking about their relationships or things that are more about their personal lives. And my questions are usually about things I want to know about my pregnancy since I'm so close to my due date and they keep getting pushed down by those posts. But anyways..Okay so I'm 39+5 weeks. On Wednesday, I got a cervical check and was 3-4 cm dialated and 50% effaced. Then on Thursday morning I lost my mucus plug and now I'm just waiting for my baby boy to come ! I was wondering what happens with the first labor contractions?.. for moms who have given birth already or experienced labor contractions. What do the first real contractions feel like ? Like does it hurt and will I know when it's an actual contraction? And will it come out of no where ?

Ya I've seen a lot on this app. Alot of different situations. Some feel their contractions strong and some don't. And some are dialated for weeks and some dialate all the way from a 1 to 10 within a day . And some ladies waters break and some have it done by the doctor. I just don't know what to expect for me lol. My mom keeps telling me that contractions just feel like tightness and that's what I'll feel. She never described them with pain, so I told her that maybe she was just lucky and her contractions werent painful, because A LOT of women on here have described them as painful and that's what I need to prepare myself for

Yes I went quick with my first dilated one to five in about a hour then six to 10 in about a hour. Some women are different then others like for her my water didn't break my Dr had to break it which was at a seven then the pain got severe

Everyone is different but with both my boys they ruined my night. Labor started with both of them in the middle of the night when I was relaxed and not thinking about it. Relax and you will know a real contraction when it happens. Enjoy the quiet nights until then. It's a wonderful experience! Congrats!

Also, don't wait for your water to break. With my second I waited around until I couldn't take it anymore. I went to the hospital and was 8cm dilated and my water didn't break until I started to push. Everybody is different but when you feel it you will know it's the real deal. Especially being 39 weeks and 3-4cm and lost your plug. He will be here soon so you will be more aware of the pain.

I had regular contractions every 3-5 minutes for a week! They didn't hurt just stomach tensed all the up. My water finally broke and they never got painful. I had to be given pitocin to dialate because my water was broken for to long and I wasnt progressing. They got super painful with pitocin! The worst pain in my life, I made it with no pain meds like I had wanted to do tho. Good luck! Hopefully you will meet your baby soon

Yes you will know it is a contraction. They don't always start off painful but they become very painful and may take your breathe away. It's hard to explain. You will just know when it's time. It is a pain you have never felt before.
