Castor Oil

I am 35 weeks pregnant & in So much pain! I have so much pressure and back pain. My friend told me to try castor oil but I wanted to know if anyone else has tried it and what was there outcome. My son is above weight and 96% for head size. Doctor moved his due date to July 23rd because of how developed he already is. I haven't lost my mucus plug yet, that I know of. Someone please help.

I used it but I was full term and have contactions. My contractions were just far apart and we're not consistent. I did it with my first pregnancy and everything was fine but I would wait until your at least full term.

Your pressure and back pain could be from baby bring positioned badly. I suggest looking st the spinning babies website first and see if some of the techniques can get baby to turn before trying any induction methods.

I tried this method with my first son 11 years ago and several of my friends have tried it as well. It actual works and no harm is done to the baby at all. I took one dose the night before I went into labor with my son. Be sure not to take too much of it and be sure to have a chaser afterward, because the taste and smell are gross. Best of luck

Baby is only considered full term and not premature at 37 weeks because it would be safer to deliver after that point and more likely to not have medical problems. That does not mean the baby is done developing and growing.

Don't try it so early! I'm considering it now because I'm 40+ weeks and don't want to be induced medically. Hang in there, just another few weeks left!!

It's not safe for the baby to use castor oil and plus you are still considered preterm right now you can't go off of measurements and weight as a definite they can be off my doctor was talking about inducing me saying the baby was weighing and measuring so big I went into labor 2 days before my due date and he was alot smaller than the doctor kept saying it's always best to let your baby come naturally the baby is not fully developed till 40 weeks

I wouldn't be trying anything til you're full term. Just because your baby measures big doesn't mean he's not still growing and developing. The brain is still developing at this stage.

I hope your not meaning to try this now. I don't recommend you trying castor oil at all. Do the research it's not good for you or the baby. Plus women use it as a last resort if they are over 40 weeks. Be careful :(
